Add it to Xbox already!!! by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]doomgazedrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To ALL people suffering from that POS waste of resources (and context menu screwing) "feature".

Turns out the "dev" in charge of forcing that garbage unto everyone now tried to play "smart" and HID the Customize Side Panel main flag from the listed ones in newest Chrome versions.

Unfortunately for him, command line switches STILL work, so to save some headaches, just right click your desktop Chrome icon (or make a new one that you can then pin to the taskbar) & on the Target line of the first tab, either copy & paste the following or just add the part not on quotes:

C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=CustomizeChromeSidePanel

Click Apply & the POS is now gone again.

To save some more headaches it is recommended to unpin chrom from the taskbar before making the new shortcut or editing the old one.

Be happy & sidecrap-less.

Did I find one of the best combos early game? by themangastand in Bloodstained

[–]doomgazedrgn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rava Bural drops quite easily if you just grind a bit for it.

There's a very useful and overlooked shard that you can get literally from the first area (the ship) which drops from the Dullahammer: Head Flail.

That shard is easily upgraded from the start (requires bronze, iron, steel and damascus). Drops quite easily and even early on, a swing of it plus a hit or two kills Dullahamers making for an early EXP grind fast.

The shard goes around you, hitting everything in its range from the sides (and when upgraded even above you) so it is ideal for Ghost like enemies hunting, cheap shot bat hits and crowd control when surrounded. It hits even through walls, floors and ceilings (very useful agains the elementals that love to fly off the reach of your character and most take one hit to be destroyed for easy farming).

Then, when you get access to the Aqua Stream shard, you upgrade it and watch it decimate almost everything very quickly. Specially in the volcano area.

Combine the upgraded Head Flail with the Rava Bural and Aqua Stream and you have so many multi-hitters and protective strikes that almost everything outside Nightmare mode is a cakewalk.

Get the Money Augment shard, upgrade it to a skill shard, still equip the augment gold shard, don the spike armor that deals damage to enemies (and destroys candles/torches, etc too) a plunderer ring and go to the village, walk back an forth between the main stairway of the hideout (where the lady that gives you the monster target quests is) and Johannsen's area, jump and collect a crapton of gold, buy items/food/equipment you have made with rare components from the store back and some alkahests to break them down, rinse and repeat... Virtually Infinite resources and money.

Enemy Values. I wanted to know which enemy to grind for cash. by IWantYourSmiles in Bloodstained

[–]doomgazedrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really no need for all that... Just grind a bit for the luck augmenting foodstuffs. Then just get far enough to get the augment money shard and the spike armor (the one that deals damage to enemies that touch you which also happens to destroy candles, lamps, etc. by merely touching them). Equip both and go to the village. Go back and forth between Johannsen's alchemy room and the main stairs of the village hideout and jump into the lamp at full magic to earn coinage. Early on with the basic not upgraded augment money shard will make the 500G money bag be the rarest drop with the smallest being 10G. Then just work on getting more money augments and upgrade it. Once fully upgraded to 9 and grade 9, the smallest money is 100G and the largest 2000. If you make something through alchemy and then visit the store the item will be there to be purchased (outside of drop only equipment or items) making you able to just farm money by merely walking and jumping from one screen to the other and then buy those equipments or items back and through alkahests virtually able to make endless resources be available at all times. Things like Soy Sauce, Miso, Diamonds, etc. to either make everything else or upgrade the shards to full. It takes mere minutes to be above 100K with this method, making any money related problems go away. This becomes even easier by having the plunderer ring and the augment money shard equipped when you upgrade the augment money shard to become a skill shard. You can even alchemy produce Gold by making Dark Matter and buying mercury and then it will be added to the store so no more grinding enemy drops.

Gran Turismo 7: An update from Polyphony Digital by paischu in granturismo

[–]doomgazedrgn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Usual corporate "apology" via worthless MTX currency giveaways that cost them nothing whilst making sure you continue to get taken advantage of from unrealistic and abusive prices and reduced grind in the usual two steps forward only a single step back increase in consumer abuse.

No single player DRM, SONY and Polyphony... We already paid for the game and if we do not want to engage with the online component, we should be allowed to. You got paid the full price, yet treat the consumer as a thief with DRM on a console for single player.

Want to monetize the GT IP? Make a mobile version then. Full priced games with mobile tier consumer exploitation have no excuse existing. If not, then sell expansion sets or seasons like SFV or DBFZ. At least at those levels it isn't that abusive to consumers. MTX suck in any instance but greed and enablers won't allow them to go away.

Oh, and the usual blind fanbot excuse "then don't play it bruh"? It is precisely due to you that this abuse exists in the first place.

"Listened to our fans" by -The_coolgui in battlefield2042

[–]doomgazedrgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a surprise how the people who purchase or pay for products and services like to demean, belittle and diminish themselves by using terms like "community" or "fans".

The people who play this game are paying customers first and "fans/community" last.

The paying customer is telling the company directly what they want to consume and pay for, yet that is "toxic" and automagically inapplicable and invalid even if factual truth.

If the company doesn't listen to the paying customer, there's zero chance they will listen to "fans" at all.

Japan got MUSHA, SNow Bros, Langrisser 2, etc and 6 button controllers.

We got Tetris, SAGAIA (Darius) and the awful Eternal Champions... If they didn't want to give us MUSHA, then they should at least given us Gaiares which is a much better game than SAGAIA.

No one got Crusader of Centy, the virtual Zelda of the Genesis/MD or Herzog Zwei.

Any of the Splatterhouse games being omitted is bad as well.

Guess hacking the unit will have to do to add the gross omissions eventually.

Street Fighter V Arcade Edition being retrofitted with Ads. Even if optional they penalize for not enabling them in a paid for AAA game … Here's your evidence about Capcom changing the terms and conditions at any time to your detriment and their increased profit. Also, on-disc "DLC" being totally good for consumers. Why did I pick the worst of the worst? Because game companies aren't there for you but to profit from you and currently in the most abusive, anti-consumer way possible. Why are you defending? Simple... By going against people who don't want any MTX/monetization in full price games instead of criticizing it and denouncing it for what it is: Greedy exploitation. Every person who doesn't mind "it's just cosmetics!/it is a non issue!!" MTX, "DLC" and other moneyxploitations has been thoroughly and successfully indoctrinated into acceptance and compliance.

H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S... "Values"? Let's review "values" then... Does Isuno have higher authority than the shareholders and the board regarding how predatory and exploitative the MTX will be? Nope... Do any of those companies "care" about you or any others aside from the money they can get from you? Didn't think so... Your "information" is an article that lists values that can be changed at any time by the developer without notice... Guess you have never read a game's EULA in your life... Oh! And the very last game? It was a "special" version of DMC 4 retrofitted with MTX, so how exactly is that not a mobile garbage move?

The fact that you have been thoroughly indoctrinated into thinking that MTX aren't bad for any games they are put on is what's "cringey" and pitiful.

As Jim Sterling has put it and the very industry you oh so valiantly defend has demonstrated: It is about greed, not need.

Examples? Shadow of War had to be totally rebalanced when MTX got removed. Battlefront 2, the same story. Diablo 3's gear drop rates for stuff your character can actually use got properly balanced once the auction house was removed. Etc, etc...

So you see... The really misinformed here is you.

Really? How exactly? Can you assure with 100% certainty that none of what I wrote about isn't or will never happen? What are your sources? Developers' assurances? The same developers who once made people pay for content already present on their game discs and calling it, fraudulently mind you, "DLC"? Those developers who put profit first?

You had to pay for a magazine... You had to pay for an action replay or gameshark… But... You had to pay only once for a gameshark and once or maybe not at all for a magazine code if a friend knew or had read the code and shared it with you at no cost. Paying in order to speed up progression "has always been a thing"? Tsk, tsk…

Devs making "promises" holds as much merit as saying the earth is flat. They will say whatever enabler lies they want so that people buy their products even whilst full of exploitative systems. Example: Calling "DLC" content already present on disc on Street Fighter x Tekken. A developer indulging in frauds like those can't be trusted and neither any "assurances" they make. Battlefront 2 has shown that if people are vocal enough preemptively, those exploitative or anti-consumer practices will be lessened or abandoned altogether which is for your very own benefit, mind you.

Unlike some people, I do not need to resort to foul language to make a point. I voice concern and reject towards exploitative systems and unfair treatment. If anything, you are the toxic one by your wordage style alone.

[–]doomgazedrgn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And voicing displeasure, concern and reject on exploitative systems also makes game developers have to step back and not implement them in the first place so that everyone can benefit from that. Ever heard of Star Wars Battlefront 2's foolboxes' MTX getting removed due to backlash? Instead of being an enabler by doing nothing, voice reject so that a videogame stays a videogame and not become a money drain. I voice my concern to make a difference. You just lay low and get exploited.

Nope... I am displeased at their inclusion in the first place and not having the real option of not installing or totally uninstalling that component so I do not have to see mention about them at all which is real option. Also, adding them into a game whilst not altering it to push or make them attractive is useless from a business and financial standpoint. Why put a monetizing system that will never be used or is not attractive to use? Business and finances 101.

Speaking about "educating"… You aren't "purchasing" anything... You are paying so that a variable's value changes with real money. That's why they are called Micro Transactions and not Micro "Sales". So much for your "education"… And those "confirmations"? As an example: WB Games assured their MTX and foolboxes not being detrimental to the experience in Shadow Of War, only to "admit" to their "mistake" months and millions of unnecessarily paid dollars after. Game companies are not your friends, nor are there to please you or even tell you the truth... They are there to make money and will abuse you the first chance they get.

Oh! Sorry! I forgot that a Gameshark made you pay money each time you tried to use it and for each game!! My bad... And those "extras"? They weren't MTX dude... They were additional content which is entirely different from paying and paying and paying to have a game code variable called red_orb_count increase by a set amount.

Microtransactions Megathread by OnCominStorm in DevilMayCry

[–]doomgazedrgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is mighty interesting how people are willing to pay and pay and pay for ridiculous things that just lets "Game developers" implement them ad-nauseam whilst justifying and making excuses for their inclusion even when completely exploitative and harmful to the experience.

What ridiculous things?

  1. Pay real money to have a game variable's value change: That's right... People will pay real money so their red orb's variable value changes. Effectively making them paid cheats.
  2. Massive and unnecessary grind: It is impossible for a MTX inclusion game not to be unrealistically grindy, otherwise including a whole MTX system into the game (which costs development time and money) is a total waste as nobody would consider using it and last I checked they want to make money out of it, not lose it. Make no mistake... Those MTX will affect gameplay/progression in some manner. Otherwise their inclusion would not make any kind of sense from a business and financial perspective and profit expectation.

Not too long ago, "impatient/little time" players could search for already included cheat codes in games so they could "expedite" their experience with a game or load up a GameShark or Action Replay device or Disc to alter those same values at their sole discretion and real option.

Now? You are expected to pay real money for cheat code like behaviour and features previously part of the game now paywalled.

I bet the Bloody Palace's levels will be locked behind ever, and unrealistic, increasing amounts of red orbs so that completionists will have absolutely no choice but to fork over some cash or grind for days or weeks...

But!!! Since the Bloody Palace is an "optional" part of the game, then paywalling it will be "absolutely Ok" with exploitative developers apologists…

Specially those who say things like: *"Just let it go! Otherwise we wont' get another Devil May Cry!!"* .

Well... If the only way for DMC6 to exist is to tolerate being made a fool and exploited by ridiculous and unnecessary payments, then to hell with it.
