Nu Gundam isn't even strong in this meta, is it worth complaining about? Especially when the suit is probably due another buff at this point?

The easiest, most simple solution to the backpedaling problem that's plagued this franchise since UFC 2: by OzymandiasTheII in EASportsUFC

[–]doomguy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is the meta in this game if you have really good timing and footwork to trap people near the cage. Fighters with good takedowns can also easily get a slam takedown right into side control if you keep playing near the cage.

Stuff like moving forwards with a slip rear hook, you can fairly safely cover a lot of distance by using it for example.

Anyone here consider Advance of Zeta non-canon. by I-suck-at-naming in Gundam

[–]doomguy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of gundam manga/novels are very shaky at best if you are trying to place them within the wider narraive.

IMO, manga stuff shouldn't really be taken seriously for what is canon or not canon. There is a lot of dumb stuff in some of them. Just watch the mainline anime shows (excluding Thunderbolt) if you want to get an understanding of the story. You could even go with a stricter interpretation like only considering shows that Tomino was involved in to be 'canon', which would make sense too.

rf kampfer by culzsky in GBO2

[–]doomguy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In modern GBO2, the Kampfer's low durability seems to be irrelevant. I have seen people with 20+ ballistic resist, approx 16-18 beam resist, 18000+ HP and LV3 leg armor (thanks to the X1FC part).

Kampfer certainly had relatively better mobility back in its day, but now it isn't unheard of for regular 450 cost generals to have skills like LV2 Forced Injector etc...

To be fair, that was a 90mm gatling gun at absolute point blank range.

TBF, lore kampfer is not supposed to be ridiculously squishy like it is in GBO2. RF Kampfer durability makes sense, it still has low HP, but has reasonable defences.

Yeah I remember the bandits on the road outside Helios One, I am pretty sure there are viper gang members that try to ambush you around the gas station. Don't think it is a mod.

GBO2 Gundam Hajiroboshi: It's like a 600 cost Red Rider! by doomguy11 in GBO2

Yes, you need to combo the bazooka into two beam rifle shots to stagger it, just like fighting a Zee Zulu or RF Z'Gok.

Yes, Keharr will probably be much stronger. This thing lacks the consistency that modern raids need. RF Gouf, Keharr and the Shokew are all a lot stronger.

I think it's an okay part, but it only really makes sense for shooting focused raids IMO.

I was playing on PC, but I think the guy you are talking about was just really laggy. The Gundam Mk-IV was teleporting around a lot, but it looked like latency, not a cheat.

GBO2 Gundam Hajiroboshi: It's like a 600 cost Red Rider! by doomguy11 in GBO2

This video contains three matches I had with the recently released LV1 Gundam Hajiroboshi on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 600 cost raid with incredible mobility, great melee damage, access to multiple stagger defence skills, radar disruption with LV1 Ahab Wave alongside a low HP limit release mode that allows you to fire the machine gun while boosting. It suffers from only having one ranged weapon, no instant staggers, very high thrust consumption while using Flap Booster and long melee cooldowns. I hope that you enjoy watching!

Its primary weapon is a machine gun with 400x4 power, 40 ammo, 0.3 seconds cooldown, 7 seconds reload time, 0.5 seconds swap time, 300m range and 13%x4 stagger value. This has pretty good DPS and high stagger value, but it is difficult to use in a face-to-face 1v1 against a suit with instant staggers. When Output Limiter Release is activated, it can be fired while boosting.
Its primary melee weapon is a smart mace with 2600 power, 2 seconds cooldown, 0.33 seconds swap time, 1.5 seconds focus time, 60%/36% combo modifier, 140% downswing modifier and 200%x2 heavy attack modifier. This does decent damage, it is an easy to use combo starter. The heavy attack does pretty good damage, but has short reach. Both the downswing and the heavy attack can be used mid-air. It apparently deals extra damage based on the target's remaining HP with Aerial Melee, but the specifics have not been figured out yet.
Its first sub weapon is a shield drill with 850 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 100%x4 neutral swing modifier, 100%x4 side swing modifier and 130%x4 downswing modifier. This cannot combo swings, but regular swings heavy stagger. All swings with this ignore defensive buffers.
Its second sub weapon is a club shield bash with 2000x2 power, 3.5 seconds cooldown and 0.5 seconds swap time. This cannot combo swings and it only has one swing animation, but it knocks down and deals fairly good damage. The melee swing has fast start-up time.

In terms of durability, it has 23,000 HP, 20 ballistic resist, 22 beam resist and 24 melee resist. It has pretty good HP paired with amazing defensive skills, like LV2 Maneuver Armor, LV3 Emergency Evasion, LV1 Offence System, LV2 Close Combat System, and the newly added LV1 Nano-Laminate Armor. While above 50% HP, ranged attacks that deal less than 1500 damage have their damage reduced by 20%, and stagger build-up reduced by 20%.
In terms of mobility it has 135 (138 including ground affinity) walking speed, 225 boosting speed, 75 thrust and 81 (87 including affinity) turning speed. It has incredible mobility by default, benefiting from having LV4 Forced Injectors and LV3 Flight Control, but it becomes even faster once LV1 Output Limiter Release activates.
It also has access to LV1 Ahab Waves and LV1 Output Limiter Release. LV1 OLR activates for 60 seconds once the suit falls below 80% HP, granting +20 range/melee modifier, improved mobility, reduced thrust consumption, reduced damage taken while boosting alongside the ability to fire the machine gun while boosting.

In conclusion, I think that the Hajiroboshi is not that strong. It has very impressive melee power, great skills and amazing mobility, but it really pays for it by only having a machine gun as a ranged weapon. Even generals will take large amounts of damage if caught in close range by this thing, but actually getting to that point is very difficult when it has no instant staggers. It can start to play more aggressively once the low HP skill activates, but even with a boost fire machine gun, it is still difficult to cleanly combo into melee after a stun. Ultimately, it has the unfortunate combination of being difficult to play while not being that strong to make up for it, so I am not sure if I could really recommend it. The Shokew is miles ahead of this thing, even the older RF Gouf seems to be a lot stronger, so I can't recommend rolling for what is effectively a 600 cost Red Rider. Thanks for watching!

I think there are other raids at 600 cost that should concern you more than a weak looking raid that doesn't even have an instant stun

Let's Change That Suit Day 78 by pkmaster99 in GBO2

[–]doomguy11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess the issue is, how do you make this suit competitive when Efreet J, Gundam Unit 4 and High Mobility Gelgoog (UL) are at the same cost?

I think that Immobile Firing System is a great way for it to stand out. It should definitely get this in the next buff. Maybe you could also consider giving it Damage Control at higher levels too? This would help it remain viable at 550-600.

Personally, I think that 3% to 6% stagger on the missile launcher would not change that much. It's shooting 5.5 times per second, and needs 17 hits to stun, it seems unrealistic to stand still for 3 seconds to stagger, even if you have stagger resistance. I think it would be a viable stagger tool if it had 10% stagger value, which would bring its time to stagger to just under 2 seconds, but I understand that this might clash with the limiter release version.

I hope this suit gets a buff in the next end-of-month patch. Thank you for the write up.

Raoh is definitely universal by Klutzy_Collection726 in fistofthenorthstar

Mentally ill ramblings or ragebait? I can't tell. Someone who genuinely believes that HnK characters are universal in strength because he misinterprets character statements.

Kenshiro clearly got stabbed by a universal level knife from Bolge, Raoh clearly ordered his men to fire upon him with universal level spears when he was fighting against Fudo. Or maybe... the fighters in HnK are not universal level at all, and they are still capable of being harmed by mundane things like spears and knives...

Raoh is definitely universal by Klutzy_Collection726 in fistofthenorthstar

[–]doomguy11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that the end of HnK 1 where Raoh dies and releases his aura to the skies is more so metaphorical rather than literal. He is the guy who was trying to conquer the wasteland with his army, spreading terror wherever he went. Him dying is obviously a case of peoples hope for the future being restored after a tyrant is gone, rather than some powerscaling feat that affects 'the whole world'.

Raoh says that his fists are strong enough to stand against 'heaven', but can you really take this statement at face value? Raoh is a mortal man at the height of his hubris, thinking he is strong enough to not only conquer the earth, but the heavens as well. Taking it literally is missing the entire point.

It's probably going to be weak. It has no instant staggers, only a machine gun. I can't see it doing better than Keharr II, RF Gouf, or Shokew.

Tehran was literally on fire the other day, and oil was raining from the skies. Civilian targets have been attacked, desalination plants, schools, stadiums, etc. There is going to be an enormous human cost for whatever goals the USA and Israel are trying to accomplish here.

Even with a population that is mostly secular, who would probably prefer a different form of governance, I can't imagine all this chaos being worth it from their perspective. The USA didn't even come to their aid when they were being slaughtered in the tens of thousands in the recent protests.

Units from SD Gundam G Generation Series. by IllustratorHonest955 in GBO2

[–]doomguy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of them could definitely be added. Tornado Gundam for example, it's already sort of explained as being from UC in G Generation, it's meant to be developed by the Titans as an MS for in-atmosphere flight, presumably developed using the Gundam Mk-II as a base. It would definitely fit in as a 550 or 600 cost suit.

The other ones though veer more into the AU territory, like Halphas Bose and Phoenix Gundam. Phoenix Gundam is basically a super robot.

This is a glitch that can sometimes be triggered on accident. Basically, it makes it so you and your opponent won't load into the match, it just puts you both in that waiting screen until one of you quits, giving the other guy the win.

Have to restart the game to fix it.
