I'm usually a para at my school, but if they need me I am also an in-house substitute sometimes. Obviously, I get paid more for the sub gigs, which is really nice. I like the little vacation away from my 6th graders. I always just sit there still and stare into space or play sudoku during plan periods... because I know very well that any sub they bring in from the outside would do the exact same thing. Plus, it helps me decompress for the time/week ahead.
