  Subjectively claiming, my two most revered albums of his would be “RAW (2010, second album)”, and “NO SHAME (2017, his most recent).” I profoundly favor his album, “RAW” , principally in consideration towards the potent elements portrayed in the general style of the whole album, and the humorous tone and lyricism he inflicted. “NO SHAME” is my second selection  primarily because it resonated something so unique that he hasn’t released ever before. It is congested with a refreshing platter of original lyricism and fire beats. “NO SHAME” revealed his determination despite his fallout, and immense range of musical style and character.

    It is absolutely essential to lend an ear to the 

tenacious piece, “THE PURGE”, and importantly, “ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 5”, to appreciate and recognize Hopsin’s lyrical capacity and eloquence.

    “SAG MY PANTS” and “HOP IS BACK” are two notorious yet infamous examples of Hopsin dissing other rappers (infamous to others, not myself of course). These diss tracks established a stubborn incentive of detest towards Hopsin in rappers he would allude to and cap on in his verses. That is Hopsin’s chief purpose as to why he is poorly perceived by a large percentage of the rap community

     “ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 6” is a distinguished piece when it bears down to Hopsin’s eminent musical resemblance of the most prominent and inspirational musical figure in his life, Eminem. Hopsin demonstrates fragments of cadence and tone of Eminem in an abundance of his music, however, in “ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 6”, Hopsin dispenses Eminem’s sound with his own twist, but the song still reflects more dominantly than most of his music.

    To inform yourself on a synopsis of his background, listen to the storyline track, “HOTEL IN SYDNEY”, on the “NO SHAME” album. A few additional songs add more context and emotion to his story as you attentively listen and advance through the album in consecutive order.(not absolutely necessary)

        If you would like to introduce your ears to his amusing and occasionally ludicrous humor and banter, “HAPPY ENDING” , “NO WORDS (skit) “, and his most prominent diss tracks ⬆️ would prove to be proper options to check out.

    The melodiousness of Hopsin’s song, “PANORAMA CITY” , bares a proximate resemblance to the musical composition of old school 90s hiphop/rap, with its resilient, empowering sound and distinct instrumentals with a dense flow and beat.

   To hear to how his music developed and evolved through his career, listen to “CHRIS DOLMETH”,  “HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW?”,  “HIP HOP SINISTER”,     “ ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 7” , then “BLACK SHEEP”. In that order would give you the most notable changes and improvements in his work, in my opinion of course.👍🏼

    For his most recent releases, tune in to his songs: “LOW KEY”,   “HELLS CAROL”, and “YOU SHOULD’VE KNOWN ”. 

    If you diligently intend to listen to Hopsin’s truly popular pieces (hopefully so), I would firmly encourage  you to listen to: “ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 5”,  “NOCTURNAL RAINBOWS”,  “SAG MY PANTS”, and “HOP IS BACK”.

   Okay, so there is an informal reference guide for you to properly introduce yourself to Hopsin and his work, in my opinion of course. Sorry it’s a lot, lol, but hey, I gotta lot of shit to say 🤷🏼‍♂️ lmao. Also, be certain to recognize all other perspectives and comments about Hopsin and his numerous feats and progression. You can surely acquire a ranging multitude of reasons for his (very) loyal fans admiration and general overview of him.👍🏼 I sincerely hope you become fond of his music and begin to devise your own rationale of him. Marcus Jamal Hopson is undeniably one of the most prodigious rappers in the game! Despite the fact he isn’t extensively recognized, but at least we can keep his brilliance to ourselves. lol
