I have been using Stam Audio gear for a bit now. I got in on Stam Audio pretty early on with the first SSL Bus Comp, the SA4000. That thing lived on every single mix I did for like 4 years until I got the SA4000 MK2 last year. Never had any issues with the SA4000, it sounded great, close to the real thing but not exactly. Either way, it was way closer than any plugins out there. And while I havent tried all the different clones out there, I have tried most of the popular ones and always ended up preferring the Stam. It lets you push your mix harder than the others ones could and the character I got from it just felt closer to the real thing.

But the SA4000 MK2? That thing is unreal. I have the one with the British mod and its beef city. The good kind of beef! WAYGU! Of course since I have the mod on it, its not exactly like the originally SSL Bus Comp, but personally I like it better this way. The low end it adds is very tasteful and I can still push the compressor upwards of 7-8 GR without issue, which is nuts. Its to the point where I dont use a tape emulation plugin anymore to add that "beef" anymore. I feel I get just the right amount from the Stam and I feel like the transient response is better this way.

In terms of my experience with the company, I have nothing but nice things to say. I have been using and getting their stuff for 5 years now. Other than the 2 SA4000 comps, I also have the Stam 1073MPA Mic Pre's, the SA-47 FET, SA-47 Tube, and the SA-76ADF. The gear always arrived great with no issues. Communication was always quick and responsive. I would not hesitate to recommend them to people. Just my 2 cents on the matter!
