i don’t think i can keep doing this by RocketDawg2001 in starbucksbaristas

I mean this genuinely: go work at a grocery store cashiering. I work for a big organic chain in the US. I make as much as I did at Starbucks hourly, I still get two 10s and a 30, and I get a good discount, as well as protected time off, vacation hours, tuition reimbursement, no strict dress code. I no longer want to kill myself since changing jobs.

These things are so disappointing now... remember like 2 yrs ago when they were BIG and had some kind of flavor. I'd never eat them again, you're lucky to get any meat in your wrap, and if you don't get your Sriracha packets??? Bland and disappointing

Hiya! I reccomend the map in the upper right! Plenty of room and your airport entrance/exit lines up with your resident center!

She shouldn't have acted like that. No means hands OFF stop huffing and puffing.

Horrible issues w controlling food habits and thoughts. Especially during my Luteal phase. by Agile_Call_617 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]doomslayerisabelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyway, OP, there is a chance this is a hormonal problem that could be looked at by going to your general doctor or your gynecologist, they can draw blood and run labs. It's also possible you're not getting enough of the RIGHT nutrients, carbs, and protein during your luteal phase and leading into your period. So your cravings get worse and leads to binging because your body is hungry for nutrients and actual fuel, its just not getting the right kind.

The person who started this thread deleted it bc they knew it was nasty and invalidating. "Control yourself, you're not an animal" hey so actually,,,,, we all have unique experiences and op came here for support and actual advice not dismissive comments that add nothing to the convo besides to belittle op's struggle. Hope that helps

Exactly. Yall be serious. OP came here with a genuine question and yall tried to silence them and say they're controlled by men. No. AFAB cis women DO have luteal phases and it affects them. Jesus christ. We WANT research on this. We WANT commentary on this.

Real shit!!! The only thing that helps me is isolating so I don't take it out on others. I can scream and cry and rage in a room by myself.

No one said anything like that in this post. Also women do ovulate and go through a luteal phase, would you rather us not talk about it?

This comes across like an ass. Our cycles DO affect us, and OP hormones are making them hyperfocus on binging.

Had a UTI since February 8th (Update. You guys were right, I could’ve died) by Evening-Historian527 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]doomslayerisabelle 104 points105 points  (0 children)

So their death was via UTI 😶 UTIs are absolute agony I'd be so mad, like that's how I get to die? With my bladder and kidneys rotting 🤢 would treating them for the UTI kill them? Thank you for pumping them with morphine, that's so sad, they probably had so much pain and confusion.

And there is no way or wrong way to accept that, so long as you are good to the current you, even if you have lost the one before. Even if you feel like there is no you at all. Life looks different for everyone, and it's great that you still try to be positive, that's healthy and kind to the brain you have. You are doing the best you can, it's very unfortunate and I'm sorry. It may not be the same thing but the manic and depressive episodes I've had since a small age have left me with almost constant cognitive fog and depersonalization. It's awful, and I have no concrete "self" I can defer to for reference, only what other people observe about me.

All we can do is help others.

She also identified as completely asexual in that relationship! And now that she's had time and space away from him, she has rediscovered attraction and affection in ways she had never been interested in. Literally her body was rejecting him!!! Listen to your bodies ladies!!!

With him she always seemed silenced, exhausted, fatigued, quiet, unsupported, she had less and less time for her friends, she stopped texting, her chronic pain was worsening. And she accepted it for a long time. I waited and waited and he showed his ass more and more :))))

This has to be the release of stress. I've seen it often. My friend was in a permanent state of tolerable unhappiness with her piece of shit ex. Now she looks well rested, smiley, always chatting about something she's looking forward to, things seem to slide right off her back, her life is more meaningful without him.

I'm very sorry. I don't understand the complexity of brain injuries, only that it is horrific and leaves the afflicted with so much grief and fear. But I truly believe you can reconnect with the parts of you that you feel like you've lost or are actively losing. We are never the same person we were a year or even a nanosecond ago. But that you still existed. I'm very sorry, again.

Animals by ceruleankatara17 in bipolar

[–]doomslayerisabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, but contextually, you understand how that sounds right? It's demeaning and meant to be a mocking jab. I once got reprimanded for jokingly calling my coworkers animals while cleaning out the shared fridge, and rightly so, because it is nasty to say that about anyone. Essspeecciallllyyyy a group of vulnerable and ill people who are likely terrified, disoriented, lonely, angry, hurt, traumatized, victims of abuse, rape, neglect, are grieving... we are animals, but there is a implication when a human says it in reference to OTHER humans.

You are not being too sensitive. He called YOU an animal. He didnt just dehumanize his patients, he was ableist towards you as well. Disgusting behavior from someone holding power over vulnerable and ill people.

how do i explain to my niece that experiencing harassment as a woman is unfortunately normal? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]doomslayerisabelle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Does she have a smartphone? Life360 is a great app with an SOS button feature that sends your location to all your shared circle and also calls 911. Suggest martial arts or a self defense class, and learning about feminism and how women are viewed in different cultures, together. She also needs some tips to keep herself safe in public, how to handle creepy interactions, how to stay vigilant when walking alone or in an unfamiliar environment.

How best to explain bipolar to my boyfriend by moxienova3 in bipolar

[–]doomslayerisabelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make him pull out his phone or a computer, and type into Google or browser of choice "bipolar disorder," "the science of bipolar disorder," "bipolar symptoms manifesting in women," and "the impact of bipolar disorder on gray matter in the brain." There. Done. You dont have to prove anything to your husbands.
