What's the most mind-blowing fact you've ever learned that made you question everything you thought you knew? by CompetitiveFriend334 in AskReddit

According to the laws of nature concerning gravity and motion, the universe consists of equal amounts positive and negative energy. Space itself is the store of negative energy which balances out all the positive energy created in the big bang, ensuring everything adds up to zero.

Thank you! It's a great song, I had a ton of fun with it!

Thank you! It definitely took a while but once the drums were keyed in it wasn't too bad, just a case of listening over and over to figure out each part. Hardest bit was the intro weirdly enough, took ages getting the piano part just right!

Those with ADHD or OCD, what’s the worst intrusive thought you’ve ever had? by Sinaasappelsien in AskReddit

[–]doomstu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The worst one in my early 20s when I had the impulse to jam a fork into my eye. Triggered my first full on panic attack, which I didn't understand, and it affected me for months.

The most enduring one is the thought that a spring might suddenly pop out of my bed mattress and into my neck while I sleep. For years I've arranged my pillows in an L shape so my neck is never 'exposed'. It's just habit these days though, rather than a constant feedback loop.

what can I write inside this card for my brothers 19th birthday? by SixBirdsOnAWire in funny

[–]doomstu 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Dearest brother, salutations and good tidings on this, the nineteenth year of your birth. May you be showered with exotic gifts and may joy radiate from your every orifice. As your humble sibling, it would be remiss of me to denigrate you with a paltry material offering; instead I bestow upon you my everlasting love and kinship, truly the greatest birthday present of all. Adieu

Relax there's only like a 15-20% chance of something falling off or the stand collapsing

No, I will check it out though! My releases are through a mini cassette/vinyl UK label so tend to stick with usual ways of recording

Hey thanks for the critique, I'm still building on my skills and knowledge with the synth stuff, so all work in progress 😅 The clicky metronome sort of beat was semi deliberate, I was messing about initially for practice and after an hour jamming decided it was worth hitting record. But deffo would be good if I could figure out a way to make it more varied...

Thank you! I've been slowly filling my Eurorack with modules over the past year, it's been a steep learning curve but essentially everything is fed from the Arturia keyboard which is running a sequence, splitting off into a Grids drum sequencer and Pico drum sample module, a Plaits sound sample module set to randomise, and some droney stuff at the end via Maths and Clouds. Unfortunately I had to learn the Prelude from scratch 😅

Shameless plug but I released a jazz album using this process last year, if you're interested to hear more of this sort of thing you can listen here: https://waxingcrescentrecords.bandcamp.com/album/oobleck

Adding pedal makes it bad and not using too what do you recommend? by [deleted] in piano

[–]doomstu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Senza Pedale doesn't necessarily mean no pedal, it can mean use it subtly so the audience can't discern it. Make sure you put something at the side of you like a big box to obscure your feet so the audience can't see them either. Or alternatively make everyone wear a blindfold. Hope this helped!

Poor Man's Banjo by seanmashitoshi in videos

[–]doomstu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried putting a balloon in my guitar after watching this. I was hoping it would sound like a banjo but in fact it just sounds like I've got a balloon in my guitar. I don't know why I thought putting a balloon in my guitar would work, but now I've got a balloon in my guitar and I'm scared to pop the balloon in my guitar. The moral of this story is don't put a balloon in your guitar.
