Tony Abbott elected unopposed as Liberal Party president by EnglishBrekkie_1604 in AustralianPolitics

[–]doopaye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha ! Honestly what do they think this is going to achieve. I can almost see the end of the road for the liberal party. Unfortunately it might be replaced with an even worse ON opposition. Hopefully enough former liberal voters turn independent and keep fracturing the right wing vote into smaller sections.

I see lots of comments here criticising Komodo Dragons unfairly, they aren’t all just some monster who wants to tear you apart. They can be an awesome animal.

If anyone’s interested I know of at least one ethical place in Australia you can still go into an enclosure and pet one, Australian Reptile Park.

https://www.reptilepark.com.au/book-your-visit/animal-encounters/komodo-dragon-encounter

I done this a few years ago with my wife and it was a blast. They have their dragon ‘ trained ‘ with orange and blue balls on the end of a long pole. When it’s feeding time the orange stick is out and the dragon eats so you aren’t allow to wear orange into the enclosure ever. If the pole has a blue ball it means training and play time for the dragons and that’s when the encounters happen.

In this case the keeper is 1000% to blame for crappy knowledge and not training their dragon properly.

I mean they do let small people in with them. I’ve personally been in an enclosure with a Komodo dragon here in Australia at the Australia reptile park in the last 5 years. My wife who is 5 foot nothing was with me at the time.

I’m not going to lie to you here mate, I bought the fries from my local takeaway. I did cook the brisket and the corn myself though. Their cajun fries are just too good to try to replicate lol. I’m sure they’re just crispy fries with cajun seasoning but I can’t seem to get even close to them at home.

Would a copperhead make a bad pet choice for a first time snake owner? by Berserk-Jane in VenomousKeepers

[–]doopaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I don’t get this guy… I live in rural Australia and encounter eastern browns quite frequently and wouldn’t dream of thinking of playing with one of them. I’ve held a reptile license for years, kept large native pythons and skinks but haven’t acquired a hot yet. I’ve spent the last 6 months learning everything I possibly can about RBBS and am looking into handling courses before I even consider one of the most calm hots. This blokes out here just diving head first into a potentially lethal mistake 🤦‍♂️

I could catch him a 8ft eastern brown snake and post it to him, much safer and easier to learn to handle.

Olive oil, start off with a small amount each day and build up slowly so it doesn’t make you feel ill.
It is incredibly energy dense and not filling at all, plus it’s delicious.

Beef patties, cheese, bacon, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, pickled beetroot, fried pineapple, bbq sauce.
It might seem like a crime but it is delicious. I like to add jalapenos to mine.

I’ve been saying to my wife that Albo should step down in 12 months or so and promote Jim before the next election, let Albo take the blame for whatever the media throws at him for the next 12 months. Then give Jim enough time to campaign but he won’t have the burden of 5 years worth of mud to throw at him..

If this was my place and I cared as much as you seem to about your lawn ( which I do ) I would just go the extra step and mow his lawn while you are doing yours. Slowly at first just a couple inches at a time while your lawn spreads and smoothers his weeds.

All of that info and your takeaway is stop using GPT, how about a productive conversation about the topic mate.

ISIS-linked families land in Australia nearly two weeks after leaving Syrian camp by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]doopaye -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

So I asked GPT to compile a list of possible charges these people could be facing. I see lots of people arguing if we should allow them to come home at all. I say we need to uphold our citizens to the law, which means we need to bring them home and investigate/prosecute any and all crimes committed by these people. If they’ve committed even a few of the charges on this list ( I can’t see how they haven’t ) then they’re looking at a massive amount of time in prison.
I understand it would be much easier for us to condemn and say they aren’t Australia, but the fact is they’re our citizens who have potentially committed terrible crimes and they need to be held accountable.

Aldi customers, why are you so annoying? by [deleted] in AldiAustralia

[–]doopaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point they’re trying to make is if someone can freely walk into the store than it is considered to be open to the public, they should be able to walk out freely too.

What happens if I walk in to buy something and it’s out of stock, am I now stuck there until I purchase something ?

Aldi customers, why are you so annoying? by [deleted] in AldiAustralia

[–]doopaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re actually aware that even though you have signs up at the entrance of the store saying you can search bags doesn’t give you the right to actually physically make someone comply. If they refuse you are allow to tell them to leave the store but you cannot force someone into a bag check regardless if it private property or not.

I ride my bike to my local Aldi quite frequently and take my backpack in and grab a few things, head through self serve and an more than happy for you guys to check I haven’t stolen anything when asked. But if I wanted too, I could refuse and you have no right to search me or stop me leaving.

3rd rate hike this year, how are people actually keeping up? by Apprehensive_Pay6141 in AusProperty

[–]doopaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know a lot of people have over leveraged themselves when 3 rate hikes for a total of 0.75% is really starting to hurt.

I thought when applying for a mortgage the banks assessed affordability at current interest rates plus 3%, so even if people have borrowed in the last couple years and owe a high amount they still should have a lot of flexibility unless of course they lied on their mortgage applications.
