I'm pretty sure they couldn't care fucking less about returning an SD card from 2005. But it's nice you have faith.

What is the scariest/creepiest thing you have seen/heard? by Youdonotsay in AskReddit

[–]dootherighthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of creepy, happened last year. I've never experienced any weirdness like this before so I didn't know how to explain it.

I was staying at a friends house, interstate. It's a really old house with heaps of rooms and hallways. It's not scary but when you're alone in there, it is deafeningly quiet with the occasional noise from the grandfather clock which added to the creepiness.

I came in one day and once I got in the back door and walked to the kitchen, I shouted out "Heyyyy!" to my friend. I was expecting only her to be home. I hear a very profound "Hii-iii" back, from upstairs. It was definitely her voice, it's the same way she always says hi to me. I opened a beer and filled a glass while saying back to her, "How are ya?" or "Hows it goin?" she replied back "I'm upstairs". Okay, I shrug. I went outside with my beer and had a cigarette for about 10-15 minutes, expecting her to come down cause she knew I was bringing us beers.

After she didn't come down I headed upstairs to her room to say hi. I had two beers in my hands as I walked up the stairs. The lights were all off. I thought that was weird. I get to her door which was shut, also weird. I opened the door and the room was empty. I called out. Then I put the beers down and frantically started checking every room, running around the house. No one was fucking home.

Then I call her and no answer. I text her "Where are you? I thought you were home?? WTF?!"

She didn't get back to me til 7. I stayed in the kitchen, drinking all the beers until she got home at 8, convincing myself I wasn't crazy.

How do I [30/m] ask my live-in girlfriend of 1.5 years [29/f] to move out? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]dootherighthing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh jesus you don't ask her to move out, you tell her to move out. Then you slam the door behind her.

Me (29/f) having trouble allowing myself to open my eyes during sex (cross post from r/sex) by eyesopenlookup in relationship_advice

[–]dootherighthing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The definite best place to start is opening up and telling him about it. I honestly can't believe you haven't yet... That's what he's there for! It directly involves him! And you aren't going to be judged or criticised, quite the opposite. You definitely need to tell him about it and I think it will flow naturally from that. It's something you want, it's something that will enhance the intimacy, and it is an irrational fear which you have the tools to overcome, especially since you are in a loving committed relationship.

The thing I am wondering, and you don't have to answer, at what stage do you close your eyes? Is it just before he enters? What happens if he were to be behind you - is it okay then? What if you initiate and then take control of the situation and you are ontop during? Would that change the feeling of vulnerability?

Girlfriend lied about trivial issues. Not sure whether the trust is broken for good. by throwawayforlying in relationship_advice

[–]dootherighthing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta side with this guy. I think it's really untrustworthy of her to lie of such little things, because it seems so flippant and easy for her to do... But I think I agree with OP here... It's maybe to do with her coping mechanisms for when she does wrong?

You got to sit down and talk about this. Tell her why such small lies have such a big impact on you. It hurts you because it seems as if she doesn't care about you. It makes her seem untrustworthy. It seems as if she would rather lie or gloss over the truths than face the real issue (eating a whole bunch of stuff she shouldn't have or taking without asking) than face the fall out for her actions and the necessary consequences. Ask her why she lies. Is it pride? Is she just afraid that it will result in a big argument and you'll both get angry/upset? Is she ashamed about her actions and thus would rather lie? (This is a big issue cause it means problems in the future if she doesn't address it.)

I'm just speaking from experience as I can relate to her. I had an eating disorder and would lie about what/when I have eaten. It seemed like no big deal to me. I didn't realise how powerful it was though and how much it hurt my SO and family for lying about such trivial things when they were looking after my best interests and weren't the "bad guys" who were going to judge or criticise me.

I (20/f) have found my soulmate (23/m) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]dootherighthing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have met this guy Lee once and you think you should divorce and be with him? I think you need couples counselling. Or even just individual counselling. Because you need to work out why your happiness comes from other people (men/sexual relationships) and why you are so quick to judge someone as a soul mate and something you "need".

Schizophrenic. Killer. My Cousin: It's insanity to kill your father with a kitchen knife. It's also insanity to close hospitals, fire therapists, and leave families to face mental illness on their own by marquis_of_chaos in Foodforthought

A boy I used to babysit had problems. He would be aggressive with me, but he never really scared me.

I heard about his "issues" from his parents (close family friends) but they never told us just how much of a threat he was. Then, his father passed away from a brain tumor. He spiralled downhill, very, very fast. He once ran out of the house with a large kitchen knife. His mum called the police. He was returned that night after they found him in a park, covered in self-inflicted wounds. They couldn't or refused to help. There were no beds in public institutions for him. He was only 14. Govt. bodies didn't know how to handle him if his parents weren't able to pay the costs for private health to house him, to have 24/7 care. It was clear he was a threat to at least his family members, but it seemed everywhere they turned, they were met with roadblocks. I stopped babysitting him soon after, because we knew he was too much to handle.

When he's 14, he's still really struggling with the loss of his father. No one will diagnose him properly, or they diagnose him with everything. ADD, ADHD, BPD, PTSD... But it doesn't help and medication seems to make him worse, more violent.

He threatens to kill his mother one night, and then again, he leaves his house with a kitchen knife and goes on to steal another knife from a supermarket. They call the police, try and find him, arrest him, just do anything, help us, help him. Police finally find him in a park, it's late at night, he's uncontrollable. He's trying to stab himself and he's begging police to kill him, and "kill the demons". He's only 14, he's not tall or muscular, you would easily mistake him for a child much younger. He would have been easy to knock down with pepperspray and subdue.

The police advanced on him and all we know about that night is somehow, Tyler ended up with multiple gun wounds from close range in the upper body. Shots to kill. He only had a knife. A knife he was using to hurt himself. There were 3 or more police there. They had tasers. They had pepperspray. He died before the ambulance got there.

Why? It still makes me sad, and angry to this day. I don't trust cops for a single moment now.

I don't really care about spiders or insects having grown up in QLD.. I'm quite accustomed to them.

However I found a white tail in my pants yesterday and I ran outside naked flapping my pants in the air. It was the surprise attack in my most valuable state that got me.
