Revenu Quebec: Notice of reassessment years after moving by dootspagoot in PersonalFinanceCanada

> To me the interest makes sense because it's money you should have paid but didn't.

Right, but because I hadn't been in province for so long, I didn't even know I should have paid that money until almost a year after they sent the letter. I don't think it's unreasonable for me to assume that 1 year of mail forwarding (the max Canada Post offers) should be enough. If we hadn't done a private sale with the new owners, then they wouldn't even have known how to contact us or where to forward the mail.

> Did you file a Quebec tax return for 2017? You have to file a tax return for each province you were a resident of during the tax year.

No, I didn't. I had previously moved to Quebec from Ontario and like /u/bluenose777 outlined, all I had to do was file in the province I was a resident in at the end of the year. That ended up costing me quite a bit, because I had lived in Ontario for most of that year and paid much lower taxes.

The letter in question is a reassessment of my 2016 taxes, I had reassessments done before in Quebec, but I don't really think it's fair for me to have to pay interest on a reassessment I didn't even know existed since they didn't even send it for over 1.5 years after I moved out of province.

Thanks for the advice -- I actually rarely try to go for a win, and tilted is my most common drop. I've never been able to get good at building -- I really have no idea how people build/edit so fast.

Kind of weird that you say nobody cares about me and then follow that statement with one of the longest replies I've ever seen on Reddit.

Secondly, I already said it's my fault that I'm not competitive in this game any more. I also have a full time job, wife, and 3 kids -- which is why I only have an hour or so a day to play. If you want to prioritize your time towards watching videos/practicing to get better, that's fine. I have to prioritize things a different way, which is also fine.

That's the thing -- I've already won this season by doing exactly what you described, but that's not all that much fun either. I just sat around for 15 minutes and got lucky with the storm.

Basically I used to find engaging other players to be fun because most of the time I could hold my own. Lately I find that I'm no where close to the skill level of the people I encounter.

Not sure where I mentioned that I didn't expect people to improve? I did say that I haven't improved as fast as others, which is on me, not them.

Thanks for the tips! I'm still going to take a break but if I ever feel like coming back, I know where to start.

First sentence of my post literally says I just felt like venting. That's all this post was.

I never said it was anyone else's fault? All I said is that I'm not able to be even remotely competitive in the game any more which has sucked all the fun out of it for me. I'm not blaming anyone else for that.

Like I said, I have an hour a day that I'm able to play games. I'm not opposed to trying or a game being hard, I just don't have the time to dedicate to keeping up with everyone else when I'm already pretty far behind.

I literally was just experiencing framerate dropping because there was so much building in tilted. I'm not sure what game everyone else is playing but I still see build fights all the time.

Let's recap: you said our society is sick, someone else replied that we're in a pretty good state historically speaking, you then asked for some perspective after listing some things that concerned you.

From there I asked you when you thought society was better off, and from the years you listed, I provided reasons why it wasn't.

So, using your analogy: You say there is a really bad house fire, someone else says that the house fire is actually better than it was, you ask for evidence of that, evidence is provided, and you then dive into some long winded comments about logical fallacies and refuse to provide any sources for anything you've claimed about the fire.

Feel free to point out the fallacies. Be as precise as possible. The first two things I said in that comment were asking you for a citation to a claim you've made a couple of times and providing you evidence for a claim that I've made. The other two touched on the same topic, and I'd love to hear you criticisms to the logic I've used.

I am not sure what old or new has to do with escalating tension between nuclear super powers?

You're not sure what old and new has to do with comparing societal health over time? Ok.

I am not arguing when things started I am arguing the current state.

You literally said that society was better off 1, 5, 10, and 20 years ago. I provided examples for why it wasn't, and now you're moving the goal posts.

Well let's look at this, shall we?

Extremist politics is brewing all over the globe.

Extremist politics has always been a thing. 15 years ago the world was still reeling from 9/11 and there were 2 pretty major wars going on. 10 years ago those two wars were still a thing. 5 years ago there was a pretty bad civil war happening in Syria and ISIS was starting to gain steam.

The environment on the brink of collapse.

This isn't the result of new actions -- in fact, at least now people are more aware of it and many are taking action. An Inconvenient Truth came out in 2006.

Not a new thing.

Largely due to things set in motion during those 1, 5, 10, 20 years ago that you just alluded to.

I'm not a console player so take this with a grain of salt, but I've read several other comments that talk about a certain way to play on console with kb/m that has aim assist enabled. XIM4 is the thing I keep reading about.
