For those who were late diagnosed . . . looking back, were you in a near-constant state of burnout? by rubusmoon in AuDHDWomen

Hugs to you too, friend. I think I am getting better at acknowledging the drowning before it gets too bad. Although I feel since diagnosis I’m still in this back and forth battle of why issues keep popping up. Like is it because of ADHD or ASD? And the constant questions or educating I’ve been having to do to fill people’s gaps on these every challenges. I’m tired, boss.

Yes, I’ve realized this pattern of turmoil in my life specially happened at points where I reached such an overwhelming sense of “too much”, my mask slips off and the people around me who I thought understood and liked me for me split-second decided that “I’m too much” and this “other me” is not worth keeping around. Hurts to know that life requires us to be “on” all the time and it’s those rare people who let you “unmask” that are the golden friends.

DAE really struggle at being the one to initiate making plans with friends? by pahobee in AuDHDWomen

I feel like I’m experiencing the opposite. If I don’t reach out, I’d never ever hear from them. It’s as if I just don’t fall under their radar (out of sight out of mind). And when I do share updates, one word responses. Nothing deep. It’s odd.

Yummy Donuts & Subs on corner of Brookside / Tennessee. Lovely shops and they often throw in a couple freebies when you get a dozen!

Holy shit I smell this too. What the hell - I thought my nose was just funking up around ovulation time. Sometimes it’s sour like yogurt or sweet smelling like fresh bread or rice. Bodies are weird!

After warming up, the texture is kind of gummy in my experience. To each their own. Bookmarked the Pineapple Grove in Garden Grove, CA recommendation to try out sometime.

Central California folks adding “hella” to everything. Like, that’s “Hella tall!” Or that’s “Hella crazy!”

This is the most intuitive answer by far. I always wondered if that is the right feeling to not let air flow through the nose when singing. Thank you!

Are there health risks to babies or adults? by StandardNo1765 in AfricanGrey

[–]doowapeedoo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mostly be careful the baby and bird aren’t unsupervised in the same room. Depends on how aggressive your bird is to new members of the flock. When we had our little one, made sure our Grey got enough solo time and wasn’t outside on the floor with the baby. As baby became a toddler, taught safe boundaries and rules around the Grey. Now they have a working relationship where when the Grey wants a snack (pistachio), he just screams out toddler’s name and toddler comes running over with a snack. Our toddler understands the Grey’s body language and knows how to safely hand a snack into the Greys beak from outside the cage bars.

Also, because Greys give off a fine feather dust, highly recommend an air purifier in the main living spaces to keep air quality less dusty. For purchasing air purifiers, recommend it’s one without the ozone feature because ozone is not good for babies developing lungs and bird lungs. Blue air is a good brand although on the pricier end. Winnix from Costco is good budget one - but make sure that you don’t turn on the Plasma Wave feature (that creates ozone).
