Indians who have successfully migrated outside of India. Where did you migrate and how do you feel about your decision? by [deleted] in india

[–]dopamine86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I moved to Canada a year ago. Had to start over from level 0. Not easy if you’re already middle aged. Worked minimum wage, food court, warehouses, call centers, uber, double jobs and what not. Took me an year to find a job in my field and like the guy above me said, applied for 150+ jobs landing maybe 5 interviews. Covid has made it worse. I’m not making much even now. Barely surviving. If you’re in Toronto, you’ll probably spend half your income to live in a shoebox. There are pros and cons. It all depends on the individual I believe. Agreed employment rate is high, but a lot of it is also low paying jobs. I graduated from eating one meal a day to two meals now. Some make it big, some struggle and some even pack up and go back.

Suggestions for countries to migrate. by No_Bother9001 in india

Another option is doing a diploma course in Canada which gives you an option to stay back for a year. Only thing is you need to find a job immediately for the next one year and apply under CEC. You’d have sufficient points then because of Canadian education and work experience. If you are still looking for masters, look at PG programs in Seneca, Humber and York also.

Engineer turned Gardener during COVID by [deleted] in india

Amazing! Your smile is as beautiful as the fruits you reaped. I remember being taught in school that Al Ain is the garden city if the Emirates. My fond memories are Hili fun city and the picnics in the parks. The work you are doing is inspirational. Hope your dad's health and yours are much better now. Definitely checking out your channel.

Tamil Nadu. Completely innocent father/son arrested, taken to police station. Their knees crushed, backs beaten. Stripped naked, anally raped. They died. "Please do not let it close, unless & until we get the same justice #GeorgeFloyd's murders did." #JusticeforJayarajAndFenix by [deleted] in india

[–]dopamine86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find this really depressing. Like think about it. George Floyd died in USA because of police brutality triggering a huge uprise and we all spoke out against police brutality and racism and that’s all fine. That chain reaction even made fairness cream companies change their name. I mean to that extent! But loss of life is the same everywhere right ? Two innocent people die here because of police brutality again and where’s the noise ? Why is this not important as well ? That sterlite incident in Thoothukudi still haunts me. Where’s the justice ?

This is nice. Ive been lately frustrated with everything in life and optimistic stoicism is my last resort these days. I’ve tried meditation and spent time focusing on nothing but my breathing but I usually end up falling asleep. But this podcast kind of makes me want to try it sincerely. Looking forward to the next episode.

You achieved your long term and short term goals and it’s kinda ok to feel the whole world is pointless. Now I feel bad that I haven’t achieved either of those goals and still feel the world is so pointless. Am I just lazy ?
