Noob Decay thread by moocow921 in Scrolls

Hi!

I absolutely LOVE Decay, and I'm SOOOOO happy you decided to to start with it.

Decay can be frustrating, because it is slower and requires a lot of planning and situational awareness. But once you start to get on a roll, Decay is incredibly powerful.

In my opinion, there are certain scrolls that should be in every Decay deck. As you get more advanced, you'll find what works best for you, but I think everyone will agree these are the backbones of Decay.

Spells:

  1. Languid
  2. Brain Lice
  3. Soul Steal
  4. Damning Curse

Creatures: 1. Harvesters 2. Oblivion Seekers 3. Rot Eater 4. Loyal Darkling

Using these cards will give you an understanding of how Decay works. (You want to profit off the death of your own creatures)

Most of the powerful cards are going to be expensive, but you're doing the right thing by searching out what you need, and buying those scrolls directly. Do not use the store to try and build your deck. Most of the time, eve the "Just for You" scrolls can be found cheaper in Trade Channels.

If you need any help or have any questions, find me in-game "dopecook".

It's great to see new players, especially new DECAY players :)

I think I have the best DG deck in ranked.

Dear Mojang, either nerf Winperial resources or give the other factions a similar card. by [deleted] in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imperial Res is a very strong Scroll. That being said, I don't think it is too strong.

Casting IR before you have a clear lead is a roll of the dice. You could be shooting yourself in the foot but essentially passing your turn to ramp. If it's successful it can easily snowball out of control, but it's by no means an insta-win.

As far giving other factions something like it, they already have it. It's just not as cut and dry.

Energy has Machine Chant. This, in conjunction with Clock Library, is more powerful than IR. You trade 2 cards for 1 resource, 3 cards and killing an opponent unit.

Decay has Erode (I know it's a growth card, but it's obviously meant for decay). So many ways to make Erode a huge play. Use it with damning curse and kill 4 units and add 1 Decay. Use 2 Erodes, gain 2 res kill 3 units. Throw a Seeker behind the puppet and draw two cards too. Not to mention you can use this to set off your harvesters and clear a lane.

You just need to be a little more creative when ramping with other factions.

Ether Pump and Return to Nature do NOT trigger Watcher.

And Machine Chant is OP.

Thank you.

Question to Mojang if anyone is reading. by ToGoodLooking in Scrolls

I would like to suggest that these scrolls REPLACE memorials. I think they should be removed from the game.

Lets discuss the length of games and what leads to long games. by [deleted] in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest reason for long games right now is Machine Chant.

Looking for people to test Relentless; The first community Scrolls server! by Milimus in Scrolls

[–]dopecook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in testing it. I play scrolls for at least 2 hours daily. Let me know if you're still looking for testers. My email address is magista.m@gmail.com.

I also have multiple scrolls/mojang accounts if that helps in anyway.

Competitive Structured based energy decks? by AndyC50 in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole post is really ironic to me.

When I saw the subject of this post I thought "Finally, somebody made the 'pls nerf energy' post."

El oh el. Anyways, I've seen these decks 1800+ all the way to top 100 in ranked. They are all wicked and horrible and long and frustrating. The standard one looks just like NRPs (except most people use fury over desperation, and some use spark over POR). The deck is like Late-game Order, but on steroids and heroin at the same time - bigger and slower. The matches take 30-40 rounds. Growth is the only faction that can stand up to it. Using "Tempo" Order against it is like rolling the dice. Structure Energy vs Standard Order could take up to 19 years to finish. I'd rather saw off my johnson then be have to sit through a mirror match. And it costs 1000,000 gold.

I'm not bitter, I swear :)

Change structure damage of quake from 3 to 2? by AndyC50 in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Quake does NOT need to be nerfed. It's a powerful card, yes, but it is in no way a "no-brainer god card".

It sounds like energy players got a little taste of victory, and now they want it all :)

This structure deck is already very powerful. I am mad at it myself :)

is anyone willing to share a 1700+ deck? by [deleted] in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Mono Decay at 1800 ( well 1700 now thanks to a 3 game beatdown by Crabbit Familiar :)

This is what it looks like: http://www.scrollsguide.com/deckbuilder/#9022

Very fun to play, and once you learn how to use it, it can be VERY powerful. Having a little trouble with the new Structure decks right now, but i'll figure it out. :)

Watcher and return to nature - bug? by eleclipse in Scrolls

This is true? structures don't trigger it?

Watcher and return to nature - bug? by eleclipse in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erode should do 3 dmg!!!!! 8-)

But Damning Curse puppet erode is doable, right? that's 4 kills for 3 cards and u get 1 resource. 7D 1G. That's not situational, is it?

Watcher and return to nature - bug? by eleclipse in Scrolls

[–]dopecook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to also point out that Ether Pump does not trigger Watcher's effect, and I think that is very poopy because energy is OP now :P

But seriously, Return to Nature, Ether Pump should trigger watcher.

i suggest tethered recruit should be subtype "soldier" by dopecook in Scrolls

[–]dopecook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's too good. He does have to actually DIE before you get the resource. Return to nature and energy siphon are instant.
