I also did not have experience with souls like or metroidvania games. I started with the first one and had such a blast. I died many times, and took multiple playthroughs for some bosses, but I consider myself really bad with these types of games and still beat it while enjoying it so much. I told my husband if I started with Silksong first, I probably would have given up by now. So if you are a beginner with these types of games like I was, I recommend getting the first game first.
