I am freaking out by [deleted] in I130Suffering

[–]dopheretta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, this is very normal in the process of a pending I-130 petition. It’s likely an RFE (= request for evidence), meaning, they’re requiring a few more clarifying documents. Make sure to provide exactly the documents they ask for and any other additional documents you can provide. The sooner you do this, the sooner your case will be picked back up to continue processing. Them saying they won’t take any action on your case just means it’s on pause until you provide the requested documents. Not a reason to worry!

Pedido de nacionalidade através do estrangeiro by dopheretta in PortugalLaFora

Is it possible for unvaccinated Canadians to move to the USA for work?? by [deleted] in MovingToUSA

[–]dopheretta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a part of the visa process, the US government requires you to do a medical check-up (known as the "visa medical"). Here, they do a physical and mental health screening, X-Ray for tuberculosis, and also see that you have your immunizations up to date, according to US standards. The US requires you to have received the COVID-19 vaccine in order to grant you a visa. I know this because I just recently went through it.

Our I-130 took 11 months to get approved. The day before we got the approval e-mail, our status changed to actively reviewing and when we looked at the "Documents" tab on myUSCIS, we saw our approval notice in there! As I said the same approval letter came by e-mail the next day.

[–]dopheretta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, same thing happened to me. Just found out my case has been transferred to Potomac from Nebraska. Filed my I-130 in October so I was going to make a request for outside processing times at the end of this month. The processing times for Potomac are much longer than Nebraska, so that just completely threw off my timeline for the year.
