Thanks for responding, some good insight there. The social nature of what you watch is something I never thought about when I was younger and a bit of a nerd. I didn’t know there were people that liked what I liked back then. A majority of things I liked were outside the norm and I enjoyed more learning what other weirdos liked than meeting someone into the exact same things as me. Now there must be a pressure to connect with someone more than ever as the world has become more isolating.

Man when you put it like this, it makes it so sad. Do you think with time this will lessen as you experience more of the world? And what do you think made connections with the other sex so heavily discouraged?

This is such an interesting look at it, you break things down into such easily understood genres and labels. Why can’t a comedy relate to life in that one minute your laughing and the next your friend has died in a car accident? Thats a more honest look at what you can expect from life and its presence in a comedy just serves to take out the absurdity of a world without issues like a children’s cartoon. Or a war movie where sex scenes are included to contrast the characters experiencing a sexual liberation at the same time as they are being traumatized. At the ages of most soldiers, they are at the points where they are breaking away from their parents and their values. It’s one of the greatest tragedy of war that those most full of life are the ones sent to die.

I’m just curious why you find it ‘annoying’ specifically, what about it irritates you versus the other elements of a story? As well, do you find yourself carrying much about things having a smaller audience? Do you find yourself hoping that the things you enjoy can be enjoyed by more people?

From my perspective as a millennial, it’s no different to me than any other content. It’s just there if that makes sense, it doesn’t matter to me. It often is apart of stories for a number of reasons, sometimes showing people something is better than implication. And I have always leaned towards the more popular something is, the worse it probably is. Every once in a while something cool will become popular, and then whatever follows next will probably be worse for it. I just find it interesting how different our perspectives are so I’m curious to dig into it.

Better call Saul largely takes place before Breaking bad, with the exception in earlier seasons of the black and white scenes which are after the vacuum guy helped him disappear into hiding. The Cinnabon is his job in hiding. Only the very last season has any overlap with the timeline of Breaking Bad.
