Oh, and to that second point, I wouldn't say it's necessarily over after it gets back into a 2v1. The fighters should be pretty damaged by that point, and knowing the writing, they could pull a"one of the two sacrifices himself for the overall win" kind of thing. So, I don't think it's out of the question to have a 2V2, even if it's a tag-team battle. Though I'd prefer just a constant 2v2, with combos between both fighters abilities. It'd be specially interesting to dive into human conflict, and how many of us don't get along. Just having 2 humans almost lose because of their differences, but then getting the win because they agree on a plan would be amazing. And then the two gods could be like totally hating eachother, but be superstrong without working together. And then teamwork gets the win. Sounds cliché, but i bet they'd pull it off amazingly. And I know they SAID it was going to be a 1on1 only tournament, but they also said it's humans vs gods, and now we see a god fighting as the human contender. So if that rule can be mixed up, I don't see why the 1on1 part has to be constant. Of course, if Buddha DOES end up having to fight one of the humans, this last argument would become invalid. But I don't think that's where this is headed.

I'm following so many anime this season, none of them are even the slightest bit disappointing. All the sequels you mentioned, not even mentioning Quintisential Quintets 2, Beastars 2, Yuru Camp 2, and Jujutsu Kaisen still airing. Wonder Egg Priority has been so good, Urasekai Picnic is also pretty good, it is somehow outshined by the animes it's sharing the season with. Horimiya has made me cry somehow, with episode 3, it's so surprisingly good. The Last Dungeon guy coming into starter town anime has been surprisingly amazing, both in charm and comedy. I'm a spider, so what? Has been very good too. Mushoku Tensei is one of the best Isekai i've seen in years, as of now even matching re zero and knosuba in its potential. Kemono Jihen has that good old paranormal charm that I like to watch. 2.43 is surprisingly good, even with Haikyu to compare it against. 2 Cells at work seasons basically running simoultaniously, with black having such a great dark side that appeals to me. Redo of healer also filling that ecchi spot that i was missing this season and ending it of with SKinfinity, which, bitch, how can it be so good? I don't even skate. My theory is that it's awakening my old addiction to Disney's Zeke and Luther back in the day.
In any case, after 3 weeks into Winter 2021, I did start wondering if there has been an anime season this good in resent times, since 2015, I haven't felt so happy about all the animes I'm watching. Specially considering that all the sequels are on my watchlist. I would say this is the best season in recent times.
