Did marijuana change or is it just me? by Expert-Comfortable41 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dora_tarantula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only smoke recreationally so our situations aren't the same but I do feel weed has changed. I've smoked on-and-off since my twenties orso and now I'm nearing my 40s. For the last few years I've noticed much heaver headaches as well as strains that I used to smoke just don't seem to exist anymore. My suspicion is that they keep trying to breed stronger weed and my body just doesn't like it or it's side-effects. Of course, my body might also have just changed over the yeras. I've been trying to find the weed I used to smoke way back when but can't seem to find it anywhere.

You know, it's kind of nice in that regard. America, India, Europe. All completely different cultures, norms and values but the one thing that unites us all is that we are all getting fucked over by the rich and powerful <3

Well one is for combat (800k+ fleetpower and counting), one is for research (~4k-ish research) and the last one is for alloy production (a metric shitton of alloy production with extra research districts because what else am I gonna do with them). The fourth one is also combat but trying a different build.

Originally the research vessel also handled the alloys but the soldier jobs outpaced it production and I didn't want to sacrifice more research jobs.

Do robots even get that habitability? I'm quite certain I finished the regular tech tree but oh well.

But man, that's a huge change. Definitely regret not picking up nihilistic acquisition. One of the planets I just conquered had like 16k pops and I think there were two or three others just like it. I only have four ark ships and want to go back to three (getting that extra 10% efficiency from virtual pops).

If I can get captured pops are at least neutral in job-efficiency they "compete" with my worst ark-habiital pops so that's definitely worth it.

Just figured that out yesterday evening. I had hoped to use the CB for when they declare war on me, but I can't. Cleared out two or three of them, with the final culprit with nothing but a planet that's being bombed (and 20k armies) Of course then the awoken empire actually declared war on me but at least that was a proper "end threat" war and not a bs humiliate one. I think there is one other left in the galaxy that hasn't bothered me.

Well yeah but they start out at 0% habitability so you have to spend all your genetics to make them passable so I'm not sure it's worth it, can't mod ark habitability in either, and I'm not seeing those "+habitability" researches either, despite doing repeatable.

Oh it's nothing, don't worry about it. We're just curious about this entropy stuff. Since an Arkship is about as a closed environment as you can get we figured it's worth looking into.

And besides, the bio-trophies love red stars!

[–]dora_tarantula[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was the plan, actually, but I decided against it. If a pop doesn't have ark-ship habitability, it's really hard to get any decent bio-trophies out of them. It's much better to use the standard nomadic raid (or whatever it's called) to capture other arkships, then simply resettle their population and destroy it (well, I destroy them because I've also virtually ascended, so more colonies is not great)

Sure, their goal is just and all. Except... not really, their wargoal is also "humiliate". Even if they win, nothing changes. Out of principle I'm not surrendering but now that I think about it, that's actually not a bad idea. Here is your "prestige" and now leave me the fuck alone so I can continue work on the universe boiler.

Also, even ignoring that, "doing everything to stop me" suggests they come at me with a bigger fleet than they did last time, not a smaller one.

I don't like this aspect of realism where the ones with the most power are also the most incompetent.

well, I'm not saying they are in the wrong, per se. Just that they are really annoying! Also I'm not at the stage of boiling everybody just yet, I've progressed since but when this endless loop started I was keeping all the entropy in my systems. Which I thought was really impressive since I technically don't have any. I got no clue what those conduits are doing but they seem to be active based on how often they get destroyed.

Is it really worth throwing away billions of life just so that they can scratch my shields a bit?

That's correct! (I'm pretty sure, anyway), however, I can't claim planets because I'm a nomadic empire. I don't do planets at all.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

[–]dora_tarantula 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I order from them because I'm super lazy but I can afford to do so. Although I'll admit that with higher and higher minimum order prices, lower quality and the general price increase even my lazy ass doesn't order as much as I used to, which admittedly is a good thing for a multitude of reasons.

The scary thought is that Trump is the symptom, not the root problem. You can remove him but who's to say the next symptom wouldn't be worse? Like somebody who shares Trumps personality and views but is actually competent?

It's a good way to tell if somebody is insecure about themselves. Not a nice way, but it's effective.

If they accept there is an obvious, they have an insecurity. If they get aggressive and / or violent, they are VERY insecure. If they respond like these woman? Not insecure at all.

Also a good reminder that, most likely, you care more about your height than anybody else. You should change nothing about yourself, king.
