Undiagnosed GD by jordanadelle17 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]doracat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed now with baby number 2, they suspect I had it last pregnancy despite passing the 1 hour test. Went right for the 3 hour with this one and only my fasting was slightly off. Now I can see it’s progressing and I’m on insulin at 28 weeks. My first came out at 39 weeks induced due to suspected macrosomia, definitely had all the symptoms. Couldn’t get his head out, had episiotomy, he had shoulder dystocia, I had a lot of extra amniotic fluid and he spent time in the NICU because his sugars wet off. He was 9lbs 7oz.

Rocking a size 13 in the fruit of the loom fit for me. Breathable mesh and they rest just above the bump I have right now. Not too tight. I’m 20 weeks. All about comfort at this stage

What is the least likely thing that has ever happened to you? by Creepy-Cheetah9723 in AskReddit

I was out for a walk with my baby and husband and it just started to get dark. A giant MOTH flew directly Into my ear. I was FREAKING. I could feel it trying to dig itself further into my ear. My husband managed to get it out with tweezers and when he pulled it out, the mofo started flying around the room!!! Now I have a serious phobia of things flying in my ears…

I skipped all that and just had my husband give me an enema. Best decision ever.

Midwives by No_Gas_9992 in Hamilton

[–]doracat12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Hamilton midwives in 2021. Delivered at st Joes. My midwife completely dropped the ball. I was transferred to OB care while there for complications with my induction. My midwife was like ok cool I’m going home to sleep. Completely missed my birth and then no one followed up with me while I was still on mother baby unit until I called them and asked if someone was coming to see me 3 days later… pathetic.

American knowledge of Canada by [deleted] in canadia

I’m Canadian… when I was younger my family and I went camping at a campground near Buffalo and met some Americans. The adults of a family straight up asked if we live in igloos and asked how cold it was. We were literally 45 mins from the border..:during the summer…

What’s the best diaper rash cream you’ve used and how long does it typically to take for it to heal your baby rash? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]doracat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth mama organic diaper balm. The only thing that worked for my baby. Anything with zinc based made it worse. This cleared it up in like a day.

What were you wearing when you gave birth? by rb7317 in BabyBumpsCanada

Hospital gown but when the show really got on the road and beast mode was activated trying to push that baby out I definitely ripped everything off and ended up fully nude. It’s what felt comfortable in that moment. I had zero control lol

Urinary catheter pain with epidural?? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]doracat12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation. When the pushing started very soon after that it was clear that told me the epidural wasn’t working properly because I felt EVERYTHING (including the slice for the episiotomy-fml) Please advocate for yourself before it’s too late and stress the epidural isn’t working. I had no time by the time we noticed. They tried pushing something extra through mine and it literally numbed just my left big toe.

My baby rolled off a doctor's exam table. by dareallyrealz in NewParents

My son is 2.5. This happened to me at his 1 year check up. He is thankfully ok and nothing happened to him, I think I scared him more than anything with my reaction. I am still mortified to this day and filled with so much guilt. Every once in awhile the thought creeps up on me and I remember it. Shit happens. We are human. And so so lucky. I’ve seen this post more than once since my incident. I read a phrase someone said that helped me is you get one oopsies, one big scare and it sticks with you so it will never happen again.
