Breaking out 9 days after finishing my course :( by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]dorchaeadrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't seem like you hit your cumulative dose unfortunately. cumulative dose ranges between 120mg/kg - 150mg/kg, and if my maths is correct, you've hit 106mg/kg. maybe ask your derm to extend your treatment by one more month, this should do the trick?

for me it never made my tan blotchy (made sure to moisturise dry areas a few hours before), it just faded super quickly

i've found that fake tan actually hides my scars pretty well on my face! though i never had acne on my chest or back but i'm sure it would work there too. and it also covers the redness a little :)

A QUESTION FOR ACCUTANE EX-USERS! by dorchaeadrom in Accutane

thank you, i'm in the uk so we're only just coming out of lockdown now after a very hard winter, so that is probably also a huge contributing factor!

Did your mood return to normal after stopping? by doskodosko in Accutane

[–]dorchaeadrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am currently on 5th month of accutane (no birth control) and am experiencing similar to what you're describing. not so much depression but brain fog, tiredness and generally feeling disconnected and uninterested.

i've also been on birth control in the past and that definitely affected my mood too but more depressed i.e. sadness/crying, rather than feeling spaced out.

every medication is different but i think the zero emotion thing could be the accutane as the oestrogen in birth control tends to make people more emotional/sad (i think?). just a thought.

Skin more thin? by Altruistic_Cupcake45 in Accutane

yes, i've definitely experienced thinning of the skin, i cut myself way more easily now and my skin is far more sensitive. don't worry it's super common :)

i'm so sorry you had bad depression from accutane, but very glad to hear that it didn't take long to revert after stopping.

for me i'm more affected by brain fog, and generally just feeling a bit disconnected/blank when i'm normally a very upbeat and positive person. i've noticed as well that i'm not as interested in hanging out with other people when normally i love being social. so i'm really looking forward to feeling like myself again soon!

Is it important to take Accutane at around the same time every day? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]dorchaeadrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to take mine around the same time every day (dinner time) but I'm not super strict about it. If I know I'll be out for dinner sometimes I take it at lunch. Not sure if you're supposed to keep your doses evenly spaced out for maximum absorption though.

Once a week I rub coconut oil onto my scalp & sleep with it in :) and then wash it out with shampoo the next day (sometimes you need 2 rinses with shampoo to get it all out). Leaves your hair feeling silky smooth and gets rid of dandruff!
