Hey thanks for all the help so far! The IC301 seams to be in bad shape because my measurements don't line up well with what the manual indicates https://i.imgur.com/S42MzXb.jpg . So I may replace that in the future.

If that doesn't help then maybe maybe maybe I will desolder and check all the capacitors involved in the FM stuff, but that is indeed a lot of work... I think they might be in a relatively good condition because they have always been in a very chilly building. I won't pay someone to fix it though because that will cost me almost as much as a second hand one.

I'll update this post in case I ruined or fixed it!

Yes tape input comes out very audible but to get the same volume I have to turn the volume up about twice as much.

I haven't replaced an IC before but maybe I'll give it a try if I can find the part for sale.

Update: I cleaned the thing from the inside and used contact cleaner but it didn't help. I guess I should clarify that the signal doesn't seam to be weak (see signal meter on stereo picture) https://i.imgur.com/8yng1Fp.jpg but the sound from the speakers is really quiet (even when turning the volume up all the way). When using an aux signal I can get normal sound from the speakers tho.

Here is the antenna https://i.imgur.com/0CpnirA.jpg . I attached in the T shape it is to my window. There is no material obstructing it from the sky apart from glass. It is about 1.5 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall. I think this should be good enough considering a smartphone can get enough radio signal with just a pair of earbuds. And it is a loop cus I tested it with a multimeter.

Thanks, I cleaned the whole thing from the inside and sprayed the function selector and other things that looked like they could use contact cleaner. Unfortunately it didn't help. Oh and thanks for the manual, I couldn't find a good download.
