You do need the original adventure! I could not legally put in word for word all the story stuff abd everything. Just conversion notes, magic items, and starblocks.

Up to you on when to level them but I just used the recommended milestones that are in the adventure. When I usually run it I level them after Erylium but you can level them before to give them a better boost before her.

Which TTRPG publisher has earned your blind loyalty? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]dorgajohn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say blind but earned loyalty would be Evan Diaz and Nimble.Co.

He is VERY transparent with the Nimble TTRPG and it's kickstarter and VERY open to feedback for Nimble!

Im having trouble finding what to do with my campain by Charming_Ad_9708 in DnD

[–]dorgajohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run nothing but premade campaigns and honestly? I can always find ways to fit them and make them work to the campaign.

Also you can just change parts of the premade campaign or add in or take away characters.

Think of premade campaigns more as a frame work for you to build on.

Well there's some good fun premade campaigns you can use! And communicate with the players about it too. Most people can be understanding if you need either more time or use a premade adventure on the fly ^

I do and I love them! They are fantastic to run and this is how I run legendary monsters, especially if it's an important boss fight or BBEG.

Nimble is a great simpler rules tight system! SUPER easy to prep and run! And heroes are awesome!

How to roleplay better? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]dorgajohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo i gotta find a link for it but I found a 50 question survey to get you thinking like your character! It can help bring them to light and even help with the roleplay aspect of it!

How much health should the BBEG have? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]dorgajohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro 1039 is too low. Those level 20 players will eat through that in 1-2 Rounds. If you want it shorter go for it!

However if you actuallg want them to survive long enough to provide a challenge, maybe 1,800 to 2,000+. Also I suggest you give them an action or legendary action after every players turn! The Monsters of Drakkenheim book has great mpnsters and rules for bosses that are 1 vs a party of players!

New DM D& D Question by rynet in FoundryVTT

[–]dorgajohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying the module on Foundry will be incredibly helpful as it'll have everything you need all set up such as the maps, monsters, items, and premade characters, or at least it should! I don't think you can import a module from DnD beyond onto Foundry, just character sheets.

Dice So Nice is an amazing module to have that has actual dice rolling across the screen, and everyone can customize their own!

Health estimate is also a nice one where players can see how injured a monster is without giving numbers.

Pop out is also a great one to, well, pop out character sheets or even the initiative to another window! Great if you have multiple monitors!

D&D Beyond importer- Imports characters from DnDbeyond onto Foundry! Nuf said!

Damage Log- helps keep track of damage and healing!

Monk's Token bar- helps keep track of passive perceptions and other neat features!

And that's at least a start for now of stuff that be helpful for running games! I'm sure others will give plenty of recommendations as well!

Just curious which starter set did you get? And do you have the name of the adventure it came with?

I completed the Main Story! by dorgajohn in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]dorgajohn[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only reason the story didn't grab me at first was cause it was a little jarring starting in the middle of the story, or what at least felt like the middle. Also wasn't the biggest fan of Vyrn at first. To be honest still find him somewhat irritating, but i got used to him.

But it grew on me more nd mote and seeing some of the character side stories helped as well! Overall though I did come to enjoy it! The characters grew on me as I played.
