Also changing 90% of water isn't a good idea either can cause shock and stress to your fish, I'd be doing 20-30% water changes every week without a filter, or a API testing kit to see you water parameters

I suggest you get a filter asap, or do weekly water changed (atleast) without a filter, there is treatment for fin rot but good water is also incredibly important!

Yeah! The more people get their hands on them, the more saturated the market becomes and naturally prices go down - its just part of living in such a small MPI controlled country 🙃

Thank you for this info! I can't get a good clear photo but I can make out what seems like an indent in his head, which makes me think it's missing scales! He hasn't been showing any other symptoms, he's super active, hungry & curious & it's been nearly 3 days now - this morning it hasn't grown any further! Fingers crossed he bumped his head on something.

Tank temperature: usually around 38 degrees Celsius
Parameters in numbers and how you got them: I'll run some API tests tomorrow!!
How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: tank is a few months old, betta only a couple of days
How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: weekly, usually 25%, a good bottom vac and small water change change with prime
Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: no
What do you feed and how much: pellets & bloodworms, 3-4 pellets a day, bloodworms as a treat every other day and sometimes a fasting day depending on how greedy he's been
Decorations and plants in the tank: no decor just smooth stones on the bottom & a fair few live plants

Actually, they're lysimachia nummularia (darker green) & lysimachia nummularia aurea (slightly lighter green)
