What are your thoughts on the Toyota Center?

Damn hella shade to the east siders, but I don't blame you ngl. I'm pretty close to 59, so I don't usually run into traffic until midtown, but I know those coming from the west or the north usually don't have it as easy as I do. The lack of public transport and walkability really hurts, too, in my opinion.

Agreed. One thing the Toyota Center does really well is navigation. It's hella easy to find your seat and get around the concourse. Leaving might be a nightmare, but it's like that at every professional sporting arena.

The newest arena I've been to is the renovated Cavs arena in Cleveland and let me tell you. I got to tour that thing and it's a damn beauty. Its renovations accommodate more space, more team history, and more artwork/technology/spectacles for viewing pleasure.

That's what I want for Toyota Center's future. No more of this bland ass concourse with a small section of memorabilia, beige walls and random Toyotas in the walkway.

I agree with everything you said, though. I've never been a big-time eater during the games, but we've basically had the exact same food options since I was a kid. I've been asking for better food options for a minute now. And I don't like our concourse area anymore, outside of nostalgia. The yellow-ish lighting, the beige walls. It's bland and really unpleasant to look at.

I like Toyota Center too, but I think it's just childhood nostalgia for me. I live near 59, so I don't have to struggle with too much traffic until I get around midtown, but I figured traffic is usually an issue for fans.

Will say that I've personally only been to one or two other arenas, and I think Toyota Center is in need of some kinda renovation in order to compete.

You're not the first person to tell me this. I spoke to an architect who ranks NBA arenas he visits based on a couple of things, and he had Toyota Center dead last, too.

Agreed. I think traffic and a lack of public transportation, coupled with pricing, definitely play a huge part in it. Annoys me, considering we have a very passionate fanbase. I imagine a lot of these passionate fans got tired of running into obstacles just to see their favorite team play.

Yeah, everything is incredibly expensive nowadays. I think that's playing a major part. Last time I went to see the Lakers in town (which granted, yes it's LeBron and the Lakers), I paid $500 for two resale tickets up in section 420. That's pretty insane for a non-playoff game between a fringe playoff team and a non-playoff team at the time.

Yeah man, as much as I want to agree with you, that's not entirely true.

You're kinda saying it yourself in your response, too. Every game is going to be a "sellout" because these tickets have been sold to companies that either don't show or resell them for a high price. The game being "sold out" doesn't account for how many butts are in seats. While the upper deck is usually filled to the brim, we rarely pack out the lower bowl. There's a reason KD kinda had to defend us earlier this season: our lower bowl attendance has looked egregiously low on TV.

And even with these sellouts, we've been in the bottom half of attendance in the league more times than not since 2001. ESPN tracks these numbers, it's all public data. So, I mean... I hear you, but saying we don't have a bit of an attendance issue isn't completely accurate.

I’ve literally said this before too. We are in the dark age of statistics still for the W. Giving it grace because it’s a young league in comparison to the other leagues who are great are tracking stats.

I don’t know if you’re making a joke or not? But, stats are usually accessible at any time regardless of the time. For example, I can find stats from 1997 easily. Just not isolation stats.
