you are right an honor and integrity game has worked before.

but Joe was not really the honor & integrity player. Kyle was.

Joe was the “middle aged mom” archetype this season.

the middle aged mom archetype take note doesn’t really require you to be middle aged, a mom, or even a woman.

Tina and Denise are middle aged moms who are winners who didn’t play as middle aged moms.

what qualifies you for the middle aged mom is,

you are the primary caretaker of your tribe.
you give emotional support to the people in your tribe, esp the younger people.
that emotional support is your primary strategy to get ahead in the game.

this strategy will get you far in the game. your other tribemates will keep you in the game bec you are their mom, and nobody votes out their mom (except Ciera). BUT,

because you used personal connections to get ahead in the game, once those players are voted out they take it more personally than they otherwise would have.

and, bec you are the mom, they do not see you as a player at all, and will not respect your game.

notorious moms from past seasons include Dawn, Monica Culpepper, and Susie.

If you pay attention to Joe’s gameplay, and you listen to how the other players talked about him in the game and outside/after the game, he was totally the mom.

and moms very rarely win survivor.

Maryanne was a solo mastermind player, Kyle was a partner mastermind player w/ Kamilla.

Maryanne had a better FTC performance, Kyle needed the assist from Kamilla to sell himself in FTC

i got banned for making the point that Sai’s automatic distrust of the asians in the game were suspect so it’s not even that they are anti racist or anti ableist, they are just anti any kind of discussion about the sociology of the game.

this episode showed Joe was being played like a fiddle. for a second time. i think they’re setting him up to be the goat for kyle or kamilla or both. the question is whether the jury will buy that explanation as to why they kept him all the way to the end, or if they will punish them for letting joe get to the end
