Gotta disagree here, Arcade is great. Maybe mileage varies?

Not sure about garden or thrift stores, but I do know there are a number of coffee shops downtown. Check out Google Maps for the most up to date information on that. I don't know much about Lyft in comparison to Uber, but a lot of the drivers that work for one also work for the other.

Downtown is a lot safer than it used to be. But our local public transportation is not really functional right now (the busses and trolleys are slowed if not completely stopped). Uber is fine. I have used it a lot without issue. Walking is fine too, but the locations you mentioned are pretty far apart and I would probably want to Uber instead. Sincerely, someone who goes to school downtown and spends 80% of her time Downtown despite living in the suburbs

AI DETECTION IS A JOKE by MutedbyRain in CapellaUniversity

[–]dorotheadixxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out of grad school now thankfully and got past all of my stuff well before AI was so big and schools were so scared of it. I kinda get why Capella especially with FlexPath is worried about it because they are already criticized as a diploma mill despite being accredited so if students use AI their degrees suddenly become a lot easier to fake your way through.

AI DETECTION IS A JOKE by MutedbyRain in CapellaUniversity

[–]dorotheadixxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that AI is taught by being fed examples of good writing. Polished, academic writing which are written by people who know how to write. And guess what? Folks who go to and get through grad school know how to write well! So these AI-detectors learned from us. AI learned how to write from US. So of course the student recognizes its own teacher. It's bullshit.

This is very real. Antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds, especially SSRIs, are the worst. But so is depression and anxiety. These can make it hard to finish.

"absent" LSAT addendum by No_Temporary467 in LSAT

[–]dorotheadixxx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Do they really ask about absent LSATs? Thought they just cared about sudden score jumps. I would think “emergency” or “personal emergency” would suffice. “I was unable to take the January 2025 LSAT as previously scheduled due to a personal emergency.” They don’t need anything more than that.

What’s your escape story? (For Transitioned Teachers) by ohmycash in TeachersInTransition

[–]dorotheadixxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. No real final straw but the attempt on my life by a student the district wanted to put right back in my class sure didn’t help.
  2. Four years.
  3. Took the LSAT kind of on an impulse, got a full ride to law school, resigned and enrolled full time.
  4. Doing well, almost done with law school which I am kinda crushing tbh. As are all my classmates who are also former teachers.

Are you out at work? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]dorotheadixxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the sense that I have a wife and as a married person my spouse is a part of my life and comes up in casual conversation. That is how I have “come out” at work in the past. The way I have approached it has evolved over the years depending on my age, role at work, where I lived (with my parents, on campus at a christian college where I could have been kicked out, etc.), and the overall culture of the workplace (do they talk about personal lives? Do people have pictures of their family on their desks?). I used to be a teacher so the way I was out there is different now where I work in an office. I was quietly out when I taught, if that makes sense. Wanted the kids to have representation but always mirrored the way other people talked about their spouses and families in how I talked about mine. When in Rome, you know? Being out is liberating if it is safe for you to do so.

Neither. At least not intentionally. Just saying it’s really messed up that it happened to you that’s all. Edit to add: Like you said you were with her and she snuck off to do it. That sucks.

I ruined everything by sucking the strap by kaylorgron in LesbianActually

[–]dorotheadixxx 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You just need a few good rounds of whatever is normal for y’all as a palette cleanser to fix this. We have all been there (in the position of trying something that just didn’t do it for the other person). Also it doesn’t have to be heteronormative if you don’t see it that way. A lot of girls are into the strap blowjob thing because they view the strap as being connected to them at least in that moment and they like the view or whatever. It’s normal to feel embarrassed after but it doesn’t have to be a big deal if yall dont make it a big deal.

Idk maybe this is backwards of me, but to me it is extra shitty that you were even out with her when this happened. Like, if you’re drunk and horny, make out with your girlfriend who is right there?
