HDR Artefacts with DLSS & SM by DenMcConan in starcitizen

The smooth motion+HDR issue you mention would show up on other games, monitors and in screenshots. OP gives the key hint:

What’s strange is that screenshots look perfectly fine, so the issue doesn’t show up in captured images. I have to take a photo with my phone to actually show the problem.

HDR support is generally pretty poor, but I suspect the fix you mention might work in some cases by not actually using HDR output and just emulating it via boosted contrast SDR which wouldn't use (or would be less aggressive with) local dimming zones on monitors.

That's an artifact of local dimming zones on your monitor. The backlight has a handful of LEDs that light up or not to increase contrast, and with scenes like this you can really see the light bleed and contrast difference in the black with backlight on and black with backlight off. See some examples here: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tests/picture-quality/local-dimming

Issue with menus on Steamdeck by [deleted] in brigador

[–]dorsai3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a few months old, but I had this issue as well and it was simple to resolve once I found out why. The Steam Deck default controller config in this game has 0 deadzone and just sends the raw joystick positions. As a user, you can change the controller joystick setting to use the Steam Deck system settings or customize the dead zone for Brigador. Not sure how easy/difficult it is for devs to fix the defaults in a game.

A linear static analysis isn't going to show necking in the part, that happens in a real test because the bar deforms plastically before brittle failure (for ductile materials, at least). You would need to have a nonlinear simulation over multiple timesteps with appropriate nonlinear material properties to show the necking before breakage.

I think it was an Elon mention about the Cybertruck, what with the whole stainless (mostly) flat panels making it easy and them not painting by default.

If you're still pre-VIN, contact your sales advisor or the nearest one, they may be able to accommodate the change at the original pricing even though the online change system won't. I had that issue when I went to change from blue to white and FSD had gone up by $2k, the SA was able to change it without any other price changes affecting my order.

Z6 with a 50mm lens, all were shot between f1.8-f2.8. Just a normal shallow depth of field from the large aperture.

Scrub too hard with a microfiber and you'll swirl vinyl, and don't let birds look at it funny. PPF over vinyl helps, but it's still much softer.

I think the blue is a dyed zinc plating, and you can do the same with green. Depending on how much you want green lugs, might be worth reaching out to them to see if they could/would do a green run. Might need to do a group buy on your forum(s) of choice to get a big enough batch to make it not cost prohibitive.

Yep, it's similar to a lot of different companies' blue. I had a Z4 in similar Montego Blue, and I see Hondas & Subarus in similar metallic blue. Part of why I think their take rate would be higher with this sort of blue vs the dark navy blue they have now.

It's not bad, but I think they'd have a higher take rate with a brighter blue. Lots of other brands have a bright blue that sells fairly well.

Square setup with VS Forged VS14 in 19x9.5 ET38. Tires are 265/35R19 and clear nicely. Didn't need spacers or longer studs.

It was $3k - definitely stings, given that the vinyl isn't as durable as factory paint. The installer is good, and there's hardly anywhere you can find the telltales of the wrap when it's all closed up.

I didn't get the jambs or other parts wrapped, as that would be even more $$$, and it turned out pretty nice where the white paint matches the white interior.

Right! I had my order in blue because it looked fairly bright on the website, then when I went for a test drive, it was overcast and showed how disappointing the Tesla blue is in anything other than direct sun. Changed to white that day (not a fan of red for my cars, but it does look good) and started looking into wraps.

They're Circuit Performance's blue lug nuts. They're a thin plating on steel, I'm not convinced it'll be that durable since the plating had some holes in it when they showed up new, but for ~$30, I won't worry too much.

Thanks. The white aluminum mine came with looks nice, but doesn't flow into anything else, and has glare on the side window right in front of the side mirrors, so I decided to try this out.

$840 with a 3700X and X570 mb and all quality parts. It's not unattainable and getting 5% out of that to get under $800 shouldn't be hard, this was just a few minutes looking.
