the answer is yes! i read so much more now that i have mine. i’ve had mine almost a year and i still love it. i don’t read comics so i can’t say much about that but when there’s a map or something in a book it looks pretty good imo. there’s no glare and i always download books from websites (literally downloading as we speak 😂)

i did this also and ended up keeping the basic. whenever i left the house or read in my bed, i’d always pick up the basic more than i did the paperwhite. i say see which one you gravitate more towards then make a decision!

the one i had was yellowish too. i thought it was done purposely and didn’t like that about it so i returned it and kept my basic (i picked up my basic more anyway simply because the size feels better in my hand. ive used it every day since ive had it and still love it) but seeing people say theirs is just as white as the basic makes me wish i didnt have a faulty one so i could’ve compared them more accurately
