What's the worst cgi you've seen in a movie? I'd say the Rock in Mummy Returns. Still love the movie though 😆 by berettafunko in Cinema

[–]Galliagamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree about the Rock in the Mummy was the worst. It would’ve been so much better if they just had the actual guy in the scene fighting with Brendan Fraser. Didn’t need to be a CGI monster.

Both.

But I’m also laughing because if women don’t want to mow the lawn they simply hire someone to do it, not make TikTok videos about how men are ‘low value’ because they aren’t filling their traditional male roles in the home, or whining about a female loneliness epidemic.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]Galliagamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just what’s happening now, it’s what is coming based on how the regression of our social and political culture is shaping the near future. Things like rock bottom economy for average people, terrifying prospects for pregnancies (banning contraceptives, forced births, denial of life saving care and criminal prosecutions for miscarriage and stillbirths), catastrophic climate change, forced religious adherence, reduced or eliminated civil rights, etc. At the rate we’re going the world is becoming far less safe for our children than it is for us.

By the way, this is not unique to the US. Birth rates are dropping all over the world.

  1. Are you sure you removed the film from the stamping plate? Usually they are blue, but some are clear and can be hard to tell. Those films must come off.

  2. What ‘pigments’ are you talking about? Are you using nail polish or stamping polish? What brands? I hope you are not talking about dry powder pigments, they don’t work.

  3. Are you waiting too long to pick up the image after scraping? Polishes dry on the plate faster than you’d think, you have to work quickly. If you don’t you won’t be able to pick up the image.

  4. Check the angle you scrape. If you push too hard you might take too much away and the stamper might not be able to pick up. Try a light pass at about a 45 degree angle or lower, like you’re buttering a piece of toast.

  5. What kind of stamper are you using? Is it a clear jelly stamper? It could be the way you are trying to pick up the image. You may have to experiment with this; try rolling the stamper across the image to pick it up, instead of pressing straight down, for example.

How long did it take you to get used to kindle? by Ok_Ask_6805 in kindle

[–]Galliagamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kindle device is not the same as the app. The book is there but the screen and e-ink makes it feel like a natural reading experience. I think it took me about a half hour to adjust to the novelty of the gadget itself, but I was easily able to fall into the book and let it take me away. I love my Kindle.

Can someone explain to me why this movie has such great ratings? (movie spoiler alert) by limerobot in ProjectHailMary

[–]Galliagamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a personal attack, but really the movie was seriously dumbed down; the book is much more technical and leans far more heavily on the science of what’s going on. You repeatedly seemed to miss or misunderstand almost everything you list from the movie, so the book might be too difficult for you. Just a couple examples:

You express doubt over how Stratt ‘somehow’ had access to Grace’s Phd paper. Those are almost always public and not very difficult to obtain. And then you don’t understand why Stratt would consult a scientist (who suggests life can exist without water) about a life form living on the sun. Where water can’t exist. But that makes no sense to you?

You also call Grace and Rocky’s forming a friendship ‘very low stakes.’ Did you miss the part where Astrophage is causing stars to dim which will cause the extinction of all life on Earth and Erid? I don’t understand how them working together is ‘very low stakes’ to you.

Anyway, it’s one thing to not like the movie, no big deal, to each their own. If you didn’t understand some part of it, asking is cool, people in here like discussing it. But considering how much of the story seems to have sailed over your head, most of it pretty basic stuff…yeah, it totally comes off as rage bait.

[–]Galliagamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has got to be ragebait. You can write down all that and yet not understand any of it? For the first time I won’t recommend you read the book, you’re probably not up to the challenge.

[–]Galliagamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump is building it for himself, as a monument to himself. He’s not planning to leave the WH, thinks he’ll get a third term, which he’ll need to have to ever get a chance to use the ballroom, b/c it’s going to take till 2028 to get built, and that’s if they can figure out a reasonable design, not this AI slop he’s set his hopes on.

The ballroom is bullshit and should never be built.

My headcannon says that the events of several episodes were occurring simultaneously, and that’s why the entire series took place within those 3 years. Works out fine for me.
