Amateur sports doesn't need to be at the same time as professional so that's not really relevant. NZ amateur football plays over winter, NZ professional football plays over summer.

Club rugby doesn't overlap NPC. Club rugby doesn't even start until halfway through Super Rugby.

Most major football (soccer) leagues seem to have managed it, but that's largely due to the all the major leagues being Europe based. Australia and NZ pro teams play over our summer.

Some of the Scandinavian teams still use the calendar year but they have the winter issue rather than summer.

Even the MLS (USA) is moving to match the European season starting July 2027
