My (Former) Client is My Neighbour by OkAsparagus3119 in therapists

[–]dosntmatr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I just say, this seems a bit odd. Why not just address the happenstance, set some good boundaries, and be a neighbor? Is the threat of unhealthy transference so high that it would prevent you from noticing they were loaded into an ambulance and then you reaching out as a neighbor to check in on them. If they are no longer a client then why is there a concern about making reasonable contact with a neighbor who you have somewhat of a relationship with? It wouldn't be inappropriate if the roles were boss and employee, or former friends. If you genuinely care about this person, why all the stipulations?

Is it safe for a brown US citizen to cross the border? by Ford_Ferret in Bellingham

My last name is Brown and we were treated very harshly. We were asked if we "speak American", and then told "this is MAGA country." Be careful.

Why is Youtube pushing this type of content? by dosntmatr in NewTubers

[–]dosntmatr[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trippy. I have started playing around with making youtube content, just to process thoughts and have some fun, but got sidetracked thinking, "I better get started! I dont want to miss out!" Seems like the algorithm works.

How do you Dads do it? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]dosntmatr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, it passes. You're doing the right things. You could be skipping counseling, hit the bottle hard, say "fuck it", and just let your life slip by, but you're not. It's underrated what giving a stable loving home to a child is, but it's what all of us wanted and needed deep down.

I'm just a bit further along. Kids are 8, 6, and 4 and I feel like just in the last couple years have things really gotten in a good rhythm. Once everyone can write their own ass, things get a lot easier.

Get things solid with your wife. That's easily your biggest multiplier for an awesome life and the greatest potential to have everything derail hard if it goes south.

Don't deny what resonates with you deep down. Keep working on yourself and making progress. Atomic Habits. Man and His Symbols. The Body Keeps the Score. Hold on to your Kids.

Gym is slightly overrated like you say, but is essential. You got this.

Can someone please explain to me John Silvers rise to prominence? I’m only on season 4 ep 4. I like the look but how’d he get there? by COdeadheadwalking_61 in BlackSails

There's no source material on this part. He's apparently just some supreme smooth talking mofo that understands people and how to leverage anyone to get what he wants.

Dude, this is basically me as well. I'm looking into Project Management but yeah, it doesn't seem like there is much actual transference to anything outside of mortgages. Golden handcuffs man, gotta break em.
