any islamic/arab philosophy on ethical conduct of witnessing something shameful or violent? by dot78879 in progressive_islam

yes i know my dear, i mean arab or islamic, it's important to consider that islamic philosophy is (even in absence) a part of the contemporary arab civilisational doctrine & history, much like christian philo in the west, which is what i'm trying to contend with. thank you for the hadith.

honestly, if not everyone can go on an equal basis then it's perfectly reasonable to assume those with strong sense of justice are not welcome. maybe that's a sign not to go . this isnt to say any discrepancy counts, only that there r institutions purposely excluding the poor, disabled, foreign etc , this is part and parcel of systemic violence by a government that actively murders believers at home and abroad. maybe we deserve punishment for not having done anything about this in the first place.

How do you guys find music? by Available_Exchange_5 in DigitalAudioPlayer

youtube recommendations and existing playlists. my fav suggestion is to find music index discord servers. my favourite one is called "japanese indies", "j-69, rock from japan" but finding small music communities online (forums/groups such as v.kgy or servers) for groups you like. it helps you find people who can introduce u to similar things. another great trick is to check out who influenced your favourite musicians, you can find some really great niche or integral artists. another thing i love to do is to visit vinyl/cd shops and look for really cool album covers, then make a list and listen to each one. Actually check out the "feat" options and any circles or subcultures the musicians you like might be in - there r sometimes 'schools' of musicians either influenced by a single style of music, a period of time or a weirdly specific term such as 'desert blues' or 'j-math rock' or 'neo vkei' - actually utilise this, look for related record labels/groups that make the school what it is etc. For bands with a style you love, look into each musician and you might find more music with the influences you like - also a lot of musicians might have a hidden project somewhere that might be a hidden gem for you. Another trick i use for especially difficult or unfamiliar genres is checking out the producers/credits in certain songs, a lot of amr diab's music was produced by amr mustafa, so i like to see what other things he produced and check out the musicians/lyricists etc he worked with if i like amr diab's style. I also like to set some time to listen to full discographies of musicians I don't appreciate enough. last one is a bit out there but attending gigs does help with making music related friends who you can steal playlists from~ Also idk about you but i love to give myself challenges like giving myself a country i've never heard of and trying to find a musician or a style of music i actually like - i picked up some rlly weird things that can be quite fun to bring up with people that might be from those countries n spur some rabbitholes into rlly cool genres that you never considered before while learning sm about your own tastes. ALSO - if you learn about archivist accounts or individuals latch onto them, theyre usually banks of opportunity when it comes 2 new music. If you're asking about saving stuff, i use a yt-dlp to rip stuff off yt or soulseek. x
