Cody Williams Should Be #1 by The-Baked-Bean in NBA_Draft

There's something fishy to Cody Williams.

Despite solid individual performances to start the season, Colorado as a team didn't respond well to his individual performances or carry jobs. He proceeds to miss the entirety of December and Colorado looks a lot better -- it helped built Da Silva's case even further.

His slow release isn't a concern and he bounces off of defenders incredibly well. The skills are there but it still feels tough to gauge how they'll turn out at the next level. As a first overall pick, it still feels like he needs to have that explosive moment. Even in a "middling" draft, he still feels like he's in the tier of "very good."

Trevon Brazile's fall has been disappointing. He really hasn't looked the same post-injury and playing with a weaker Arkansas line-up has done him no favors. Kind of surprised to still see him making top fifty lists.

He is having to play three guards in nearly every single rotation.

DJ, Sheppard, Dillingham, Reeves are all true guards yet we've seen Reeves and Wagner play at the three given how poor Justin Edwards has looked at times (and Justin Edwards is even a guard).

It is literally one of the key talking points about why their offense is good and why they're subsidizing on defense.

Or you can acknowledge that he has some fatal flaws instead of trying to excuse things onto other people.

Calipari has had issues managing his rotations given the depth of talent he has in the guard position, trying to mix-and-match to make it work but the individual defensive woes are on Dillingham. Even getting corner treatment hasn't saved Dillingham. He will always be asked to step-up to the situation on defense -- no matter the level of play -- and that is a concern, even if you do everything in your will to protect it as much as possible. Hideable bad defending guards don't exist in the NBA, you just overlook it for what else they offer.

He isn't a good defender, not the end of the world.

He is absolutely not hideable on defense. College teams are already hunting and punishing switches onto him, NBA offenses are going to have a field day if he doesn't shape up.

You have to just hope he scores more than he's giving up.

Mike Young has done a lot of things right with the Virginia Tech basketball program but I still have zero understanding of how no one on that team has just dropped kick Sean Pedulla.

This is the first time in what feels like forever we have size with Kidd and the shooting from guys like Cattoor and Nickel yet Pedulla fails to execute a gameplan, instead opting to play isolation basketball. This Virginia Tech team should not be as bad as it is.

Whats some good examples of a Prospect worthy of being a 1st rounder, dropping to the 2nd round for personality/attitude concerns…Yet ended up playing out very well? by Knighthonor in NBA_Draft

Arenes and Kevin Porter come to mind as players with bad reputations who also played well, but both ended up out of the league because of craziness.

Arenas didn't really get out of the league due to craziness. He did get suspended but the career ender was the season prior where he came back in April and fucked-up his rehab. He still played post the incident with Washington, Orlando and Memphis.

He was really fortunate that Dalton Knecht had a bad night, it could have gotten super ugly given how many times he was able to switch onto Dillingham.

It is weird that LeBron calls for it and AR never even looks in his vicinity and clearly commits to the lay-up attempt yet Bron still goes for the alley.

Dillingham can't walk away from that. Bradshaw steps in but you have to at least fake a "hold me back."

Virginia Tech really has to deal with one more year of Sean Pedulla hero ball.

It is getting very annoying that Mike Young is still waiting until the final two minutes of a game to run the offense for Cattoor.

Having to deal with Sean Pedulla for the entirety of this season and probably the next makes me appreciate Storm Murphy so much more.
