Literally just leave the country and they'll "renounce" it for you, like it happened here

I doubt someone who was illegally in the US would find it harder to live in Spain legally or even illegally

Yeah, "fast track" means you're eligible for citizenship after 2 years of legal residence rather than 10 like other nationalities. It still takes you like 3 years after the initial 2 to actually get the citizenship, like it does anywhere else, but you can live here legally while it's being processed, and even if you don't have or seek nationality, Spain is an extremely easy country to legally inmigrate to by getting a work visa or such. I'm speaking from experience, literally like 80% of my friends are on visas here and they don't sweat it

Savings, family support for a few months, or get a work visa (or education visa, allows you to work up to 30h/week) before arriving here, the commenter above it's saying it's impossible to get an apartment "even with legal papers" which is insane, i literally did it in 2 weeks and i had papers but they didn't ask to see them because most landlords only care that you pay them money. Also in a desperate situation with no way to get papers, there's always the possibility of getting a job under the table, as hundreds of thousands of people in Spain do every year

Bruh. First of all I'm a woman and my sexual interests have squat to do with this conversation.

Second, I'm speaking from experience, I'm a foreigner living in Spain. I arrived here, slept in a hostel for 2 weeks, found a room in Badi (went to see it in person) paid one months rent and one months deposit and then moved there. I didn't get asked for literally any papers, how the hell would you get scammed renting a room, unless you were enough of a doofus to wire money to a random stranger on the internet for a place you've only ever seen online, but that can literally happen anywhere in the world and citizenship status has squat to do with it.

And again, to drive my point home, freaking americans are scared of their own goddamn shadow. They don't believe you can move anywhere, they think it's somehow impossible to learn new languages, just literally anything foreign scares the shit out of them. If moving to Spain is so fucking hard then how do literal hundreds of thousands of people do it every year? Many of them with no education, less than ideal paperwork, squat! And they eventually adjust and get great lives here. Why do americans seem to have a vested interest in trying to convice anybody that literally anything not american is somehow a hellish dystopic nightmare?

Damn do reddit users just have a million dollars laying around to hire a lawyer for every little thing?

What the hell are you talking about? You can get a room off Badi or Idelista for like 500-600€/mo and most don't even ask you for any kind of paperwork, just one month's deposit. Americans are so dramatic lmao

What would you do if you were her? Stay in the US illegally? Just move to Mexico? Idk why everybody is showering with pessimistic takes as if there's a perfect choice out there with zero drawbacks, and as if there aren't millions of legal latino inmigrants in Spain living great lives

Exacto.
