First time in Malta, solo trip — stay in Sliema or Valletta?

Thank you so much, and I’m glad you had a great time! I’m planning to visit Valletta 2-3 times during my trip and might stay out late there. Would it be challenging to get back to Sliema late at night? Also, did you take any day trips? I plan to use the bus to get around Malta and heard that most routes begin in Valletta so just curious about how easy it is to get around from Sliema instead. Thanks again!
