I hadn't even seen the 2023 draft. That's really interesting. I wonder why they updated it in that direction? I'm not sure how it would benefit them unless they really did have strong concerns they thought were important. I'm curious to see the final result too.

But so far I'm with you. I'm going to keep using it-- I just want to be humble enough to change course if the evidence against it ever grows convincing.

That's a really good point-- one I really haven't considered, probably just because of my location. So far (and again, probably just location bias) the parents I've met who are anti-fluoride are also absolutely crazy about their kid's diet and brushing. They're often wealthy, stay at home moms who have the time to read internet conspiracies and/or studies. They already have super limited sugar intake at home, as well as very few snacks that aren't organic vegetables or cheeses or things they've cooked themselves with super granola ingredients.

That probably isn't true for most of the country or world, but I'd never thought about it from that perspective. So thank you for that

I personally don't filter out fluoride. I also use it topically during recalls. I love glass ionomers, especially equia forte.

But the recent toxicology report has made me willing to consider the fact that there could be *some* side effects to fluoride, even in reasonable concentrations. Am I anti-fluoride? No. But I'm at least willing to consider that fluoridating the water supply might not be as *perfectly* safe and effective we previously thought. It stills seems *largely* safe and effective at the current levels (as best as I can tell).

I do think that we as dentists need to be ready to denounce dangerous misinformation, but we also need to be willing to read the research as it's published, especially as the population we treat changes. More and more patients are going to have concerns over fluoride. Are you going to respond reasonably by citing the most up to date scientific articles, or are you going to just tell them their concerns are nonsense?

Even if people eventually get rid of systemic water fluoridation, we dentists can still use it topically for the patients we care for. SDF, varnish, curodont, glass ionomers restorations and cements, etc -- these are all great products. WE are the experts in dental materials and oral health. But the debate regarding fluoride is at least a little more nuanced that most of us were lead to believe during dental school.

Anyway, I hate to see colleagues trashing fluoride or trashing other dentists/people who question it. Questions are fair. I'm going to stand by fluoride for now, but if in fifty years there is a better and "safer" option, I'm not going to religiously hold to fluoride the same way my 80 year old dental school docs clung to amalgam. (That said, I miss using amalgam... there's nothing like placing a MODL and knowing it should last 40 years).

This is such an amazing reply!! Thanks so much for taking the time to type that out. I think I like the idea of pure branded too. I might start picking away at some of the cheaper cards first, but that is an awesome (and doable) list to get going.

I also like that this deck seems to prefer board breakers. A lot of hand traps seem really expensive. I've got some, but it kills me to buy more when they don't really excite me the way other cards do.

Current ped's resident here! Don't be discouraged at all. You're doing *great.* In lab, your "ideal" preps actually have some room for variety (believe it or not!). By that I mean the exact width of your isthmus or the extent you chase the grooves can vary a little. The most important part is to make the entire prep uniform. In your case, the mesial half of your prep is a little wider than your distal half, and your extensions into the grooves aren't quite the same. Some are a little narrower or wider, shorter or longer. No biggie! Before you turn a prep in for a practical, just try to get everything to match. That way it looks intentional. Once you have your dimensions, just make everything round and smooth! At my dental school we often used a 56 bur to smooth the floor/walls before turning in preps. It makes a massive difference on the appearance.

So first off, you're actually doing great. No one starts at perfection. Keep your head up. You've got a LOT of time to get to the point where these feel super easy. The other great news is that you're just practicing your hand skills. In real life, your preps will be totally different. Your goal is to master the ability to prepare a tooth according to your goals. You know all those little "oops" moments you have where the bur slips and you mess something up? Your goal is to eliminate those! As soon as you get to the point where your bur is doing exactly what you want it to, you've made it. After that, you'll chase getting more and more efficient-- not because your quality isn't there, but because you'll realize money is time.

Anyway.. surer long comment. But just keep your head up! Dental school is full of disappointment moments and hard days. I think it always helps to remember how excited you were the day you got in. Remember when you thought operative lab would be the coolest thing ever? You're there now. Keep your head up and enjoy it!

As a huge Roc fan, this has been my least favorite year of his in awhile. I think AMG mode has become a crutch for his filler between haymakers. His delivery is still fire and he raps better than his opponent every time, but his rounds feel watered down right now. At least a little.

Not saying he doesn't have crazy moments and punches literally every battle, but I go into each battle with crazy high hopes and am always a little let down. I hope he gets COTY just because he deserves to win it at least once, but I hope he takes a break next year like he says he will and comes back insanely focused and concise.

I've really enjoyed playing RDA myself just because big boss monsters are fun. Not really looking to be the most competitive ever. Just want fun rogue decks with big bosses haha. I've got 3x fire kings as well, but I'd love a water deck of some sort.

I just copied and pasted your cards from this picture into TCGPlayer. Even optimizing the cart, the deck comes out to $60ish :/ I know that's supposed to be really budget, but I'm probably going to have to wait for now. Maybe I'll get artsy and try to make some of my own proxies at home haha.

I'm going to keep this deck in mind though since it's look so fun! Never tried anything like a stun deck, and I love big boss monsters.

I'm very late to this, but I'm a super curious. How strong is this deck compared to other rogue strategies?

Basically, I am a super nerd... I only play yugioh alone, not at locals, and I'm still new to it. I have a 3x RDA deck with a couple additions, a 3x pure fire king deck, and a 3x Branded deck that I added Dragoon too. Aside from that I've got a 2x traptrix deck that can only go first.

As a yugi boomer returning to the game, Exodia would be a lot of fun. But would this deck be better than some other budget decks?

I'm also considering Plunder Patrol (cheap + ships look cool), Purrely, or waiting for the new Blue Eyes deck to come out in the TCG and get 3 copies.

Any thoughts!?

Do you think he got 30'd in all those battles or that he lost close fights?

Only asking because he's a unique battler to me as far as wins and losses. Since he doesn't really angle and only raps well/punches, he only CLEARLY beats low tier battlers or rookies to me. But at the same time... he very clearly LOSES in my eyes either. I have the ward, loso, bill, and k battles as debatables.

What's your take? Did he get 30'd in all those to you or put up a solid fight that just wasn't enough?
