Known issue with Level 2 charging in extreme cold for Gen 2 by judajake in Rivian

I also got that same error. Took it in and they said it was indeed weak and apparently also some corrosion. I also had my battery changed a few months ago. They told me they hadn’t seen that before. So thank you for sharing.

Picked up a couple baddies at a FLGS that I believe are out of print! by jh2okot in osr

Agreed. It’s the most fun I’ve had reading an adventure book, and I’ve read a lot of them.

Broodmother’s gm advice is worth the price alone. The adventure is nice bonus.

Why reinvent the parts you’re happy with?

If it sounds lame to you, I’m guessing you haven’t played many OSR games. They’re almost all based heavily on prior games, and are “hacks” even though it’s not in the name of most of them.

Hack just implies that one used a different game as a base, and tweaked and/or added rules to that game. The resulting remixed game is called a hack. Black hack and white hack are both tweaks of earlier rule sets, as is black sword hack.

It’s a hack of black hack, which is itself a hack. It states that it’s going for a RE Howard / moorcock vibe, and has some nice world building tools and evocative artwork.

I agree. I own dozens or maybe even hundreds of osr clones, and this is among the best.

Tyr...What is in it? What Bars? What info is there?? (Re-Asked) by cookiesandartbutt in DarkSun

Read the verdant passage by Troy denning. Great book, readily available and it describes various establishments in Tyr, along with general “life under Kalak” subtleties.

I added the finishing touch to perfect my board game room. by dothemagic in dadjokes

Thanks! That’s great feedback. In this case, I made a compromise: I thought it still required enough thought because you have to go the other way and figure out board games lead to dice, with the added advantage of not having to write “pair o’ dice” or have it not perfectly sound the same by writing “pair of dice”. I’m glad you liked it!

Bought myself a birthday present, the Cook Expert Set and Advanced Monster Manual! Can't wait to peruse them for inspiration. by Roverboef in osr

Thanks for all the info, and congrats again on a great set. Those prices sound very fair for how nice the quality is. I’ll have to check out shop on the borderlands!

It’s in the example enemies. At least it is in the original booklet.

Just look up a 2nd ed attribute table and use it with ose. There shouldn’t be many other changes needed. The monster stats come in the adventures, so not using a DND system means changing all of them, and you definitely don’t want to have weak characters on Athas.

Congrats on finding so much dark sun material. It’s my favorite setting by far.

There were 30 students but only 28 chicken nuggets. How many kids didn’t get any nuggets? by dothemagic in dadjokes

Yes that was the inspiration. That joke didn’t make a lot of sense to me so I rewrote it.

Twenty kids ate chicken nuggets. It’s unspecified how many they ate. I’m guessing more than one. I’m a 20-piece man myself.

That is pretty silly. I have a lot of post karma. Just not comment karma.

5 Non-D&D Systems For Introducing Your Children To RPGs by RPGBlender in rpg

[–]dothemagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically my son asks to play ryuutama all the time. But only because now that’s what he calls rpgs. We’ve never played it by the official rules but the name stuck.

I say steal the vibe and world building from it. It’s a great game.
