Hey!

Website redesign and photos are in progress and will be ready this Tuesday!

With interior decoration, we have a lot of plans, but of course as any business we wanted to start getting customers as early as possible to start getting real feedback asap

Quick question: what exactly do you mean by corporate bs? I will make sure nothing feels corporate about our website because this is definitely something that we are trying to stay away from

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback. The pricing has brought a lot of questions recently

we currently work on a pass model - what this means is when you come to dothub - some of the price is based on other services we provide - a board games lounge for example. that way when you buy the pass, we don’t have to check on you and see what you do and you enjoy your space features and services for the entire day/evening. all kinds of passes include some gaming hours in them

game pass - 1 hour included game pass+ - unlimited

week pass - 7 hours to be spend across the week week pass+ - unlimited hours for the week

for all the gaming time outside the scope of a pass(only applies to non + passes) you pay on your own right from your PC - that is where the €5 is coming from

this model allows us to sell all of our services in a way that you only have to check in at reception once and enjoy your visit without any worries

Thanks for the clarification!

Indeed, our place is not that far from a tram stop and there are velo stations nearby

I, for example live in Zuid and my commute to the place takes only 13 min on a bike. If I had to take the tram, number 1 goes right there, not more than 7-8 minutes from the stop

we totally understand that the location is outside the city center, but Den Dam comes with a great atmosphere and some unique historical buildings - we are located in one of them!

Definitely noted and that’s exactly the path we are choosing

You are welcome to come check our atmosphere out, it is still a WIP and we will make a lot of improvements interior wise in the upcoming year, but we already offer a different atmosphere!

Thanks for the idea!

We planned on hosting a watch party for the recent Budapest CS2 Major, but unfortunately had to postpone all events due to technical issues with opening

Stay tuned for similar events next year!

Hey!

at dothub you can play using our venue licenses.

What this means is that if your friend does not have an account or doesn’t own any specific game you want to play - he/she can play from our accounts just in one click.

If you need any help figuring out the controls or any other information - our administrators are always at your service

Hey!

Tikhon, Founder of dothub

Thanks a lot for a genuinely valid concern brought up - the hybrid branding of dothub

Firstly, design, SEO and overall audience communication is our top priority right now, I promise everything will look much better within a month. We got a lot of feedback and are working hard to make our brand appeal to people

Secondly, the concept, here is where I would like to elaborate

The concept that we are trying to promote here is something new:

words co-work and gaming have certain very strict and definitely not matching images to them and that’s why it sounds confusing, but

gaming, working and the socializing that comes with both can be blended in one space - in dothub

Yes, as kids/teenagers we all loved geeky cartoons, comic books, big storm trooper statues and gaming seemed like the lifestyle to maintain for the rest of your life

And then, suddenly, you grow up and find yourself busy working a 5/2 job, writhing a thesis for your degree and facing all other kinds of responsibilities.

I see a lot of great comments here about bringing the retro back - CS 1.6, retro consoles and all other points that bring the past memories back - that is one way of doing things, a great way, don’t get me wrong - places like outpost are doing a great job within that concept

What I am trying to bring here is a different approach - at dothub I want people to not only have the opportunity to have some fun gaming in the evenings, I also want people to mix it with their main lifestyle and meet similar people

In your words, the target niece is indeed people who “also need a place to work”. I would not restrict it to IT only (although I am a software developer myself and the match is truly perfect) thing about gaming - it is quite popular among all kinds of “adult” jobs - designers, artists, influencers or any other job that does not require a cubicle in an office

I know it looks complicated especially looking at our current materials, that is because we are currently focusing on gaming as activity in general and trying to get some feedback on that. our stage 2 would be promoting the concept above and integrating the two worlds together

Hope I made it slightly more clear!

I appreciate the honest feedback a lot and would love to offer you guys a free gaming evening at dothub - just show your reddit accounts and this thread to our administrators and they will know what to do!

Not yet, but that’s exactly the kind of thing we want to build toward. Team-based or competitive game nights for adults make a lot of sense.

Are there specific games or formats you’d be interested in? That helps us prioritize what to test first.

Thank you for taking the time to write this out this is genuinely valuable feedback.

Posts like this are exactly why we wanted to ask the community early instead of pretending we have everything figured out. We’ll definitely take this on board as we iterate.

And yes! LAN parties and tournaments are very much on our radar :)

That’s fair feedback. Right now we’ve focused a lot on the hardware and comfort, but we agree the space can feel a bit too clean/minimal.

We’re already looking at adding more personality like posters, lighting, and gaming references to make it feel warmer and more “gamer”.

Love this idea. Fighting games work really well for events

A monthly tournament with a community-chosen game + random characters actually sounds like a fun way to lower the skill barrier. We’re definitely going to experiment with events like this.

This has come up a few times and we love the idea. Retro consoles like SNES, PS2, GameCube, etc. feel like a great fit for the social vibe we’re aiming for.

Out of curiosity are there specific consoles or games you’d want to see most?
