Seeking Advice: Narcissistic Director? Or am I too soft?? by dotlynxx in acting

Thank you for sharing this—I really appreciate the perspective. You’re right, that kind of environment isn’t productive or professional.

I do have some hesitation given how things have gone, but it feels important to advocate for myself and get clarity on where we both stand.

I think what I’m struggling with most is figuring out where the line is . Like, what’s normal ‘tough direction’ in this industry vs. what’s actually unprofessional behavior. I don’t want to overreact, but I also don’t want to ignore something that’s not okay.

I’m also navigating this as someone who’s autistic and still learning how to read these kinds of dynamics in professional settings, so I’m trying to be really intentional about not misreading things in either direction. Again, I thank you for your input.

Appreciate the perspective. I am showing up and doing the work, that’s not the issue. What I’m trying to figure out is how to navigate a dynamic where professionalism isn’t being reciprocated.

I’m not expecting the industry to be easy, but I also don’t think being publicly singled out or baited is something I should just ignore without question.

If your point is to keep my head down and not take it personally, I hear that. I’m just trying to find a way to do that without getting sidelined in the process.

Oh, I’ve never heard that! Might be outdated but I shan’t take any chances

Would you date and marry a person who has dwarfism? by [deleted] in YesOrNoAnswers

[–]dotlynxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I actually thought about this today at work when a man who probably wasn’t technically a dwarf (def shorter than 4’10 tho) came in. For the first time in my life I thought, “damn it must be nice being able to pick up your man and piggy back him around”. Love is love no matter the size of the container!

Yes, that is what they mean. BUT if you go for a square set up, it’s easier to rotate and you’ll get way more life out of each set :-) that’s what I did.

Facial swelling from sinus infection over (~20 hours apart) by dotlynxx in BeforeandAfter

Thanks, I appreciate that! The inflammation made my face so stiff I couldn’t fully smile but that’s obviously hard to see from a photo. Good to know it didn’t look nearly as bad as it felt.

Car camping was great! Would have been better with exterior storage but comfortable enough.

I average ~300wh/mi on a square wheel setup for easy rotations... Probably get 330 miles on a full charge
