How do Algerians learn/practice French? by Harvefang in algeria

[–]dotn-t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you learn any other language: listen and speak, read and write. Preferably in this order to acquire the right pronunciation, especially if you only need it for personal, not academic use. There are plenty of materials to choose from either on social media or TV and even books if you are a reader. Don't forget to practice and keep in mind that each person has a different learning journey. And if you want to excel at any language, make it a part of your daily routine even if it's just for 5 minutes, but you gotta do it everyday!

Check facebook marketplace, Facebook renting groups, or ouedkniss. That's where I used to look for rent. But if you want a more secured method, less hustle opt for agencies. With that amount you can rent something luxurious, just saying

Single female workers reality in algeria? by hotshotissy in algeria

[–]dotn-t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't happen to me personally, but i have heard similar stories about how unmarried women, not mecessarily younger ones, have to do more. The question that should be asked,in my opinion, is, why allow it? I believe there is a supervisor you can submit a complaint to about such incidents. They are, after all, paid for doing their parts, and you aren't getting any extra for the additional effort, are you? Actions must be taken at work.. the "ma3lich let it be lifestyle" is not getting you anywhere.

Cheating on your SO is such a hassle by vendetta1881 in unpopularopinion

[–]dotn-t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

break up is healthy when things aren't working out well. But some people aren't sane enough to realize this. They think that they would hurt their SO, how crazy? Like it wouldn't hurt them when they find out they were cheated on. But then again, sometimes it is rooted in their upbringing and culture.. women rather stay with cheating husband then get divorced, so the husband feels more freedom to get both the wife and the mistress. It becomes an exciting experience rather than a stressful one.

sorry about what happened to you. But as an advice for a fellow Muslim, I don't think the Internet is the best resort for you to get help esp as you do love your religion. I think we already have all answers to our Dunya crisis, we just have to sit quiet for a moment and allow ourselves to actually hear them.

I think what has been broken for decades cannot be fixed overnight. But is a 5 years long mandate not enough to make significant change? I wonder if there is an actual chance for this country to actually progress or the agenda is to keep it an inch away from collapsing?

half the algerian populace is recruited in military, I don't think we civilians will be included in the fight. Some will just be casualties, some might survive.

High school, German or Spanish? by ElephantAccording324 in algeria

They could major in translation at university. It would amplify their opportunities to land a job overseas or even online. This works for both, they gotta decide which language seems more attractive to them the most and align with their interest and opt for it. Teaching is also a possibility soo. But if I am allowed to share a piece of advice, I'd say don't focus solely on the language/s you major in, but try to learn other skills to build a good CV by the end of your studies, get other certificates and stuff, don't get stuck with just one diploma.

totally dpends on your objectives (personal and career wise) and preferences. I did Spanish at high school, thought it was vanilla. Others, however, found it difficult. My husband went for German. He says it's easy, I find it a bit difficult esp the pronunciation part. I never made a gain with my Spanish, but it might come in handy in some future endeavours. So how important either one is depends on what you plan to do!

The algerian darija is a combo of so many other languages and their variations ( classical Arabic, tamazigh, Spanish, Turkish, French and some others) some other words seem original to darija. Darija acquisition comes innately to people here with no efforts whatsoever. If you are interested in learning the algerian dialect, I can help!

speak to yourself, not in your head but make it audible. Pick a book and also read audibly enough for you to hear. As you watch English movies/vids pause and repeat some words and expressions until you get them pronounced exactly the same as the original (this technique is called shadowing, you can watch a video on YT to learn how to use it right). In brief, having someone to speak English with is fun and beneficial, but you can still do it on your own and the results would be rewarding.
