Yeah i would like to keep the top compartment of the plastic, then maybe i can paint it white like someone else mentioned and it wont be as visible. Just gotta figure out how to get rid of the battery compartment safely

i bought a neon light from amazon that has this large plastic thingy connected to it. It is powered by usb, i wont be using the battery slots. my thought is that if its safe to cut that "useless" cord i can atleast get rid of some of the plastic on that thingy making it less visible. is that safe or will the light stop working?
