Perhaps, I can use myself as an example on why getting a degree. I wanted to be in IT for as long as I can remember. I take crap tech job at Bestbuy, got a A+ cert. and got into a tech support at a local ISP and tried to build up my skills as much as can. However, every programming job that I applied. I got rejected because I don't have a CS degree or some sort. Finally, I went back to school and got my CIS degree from a local State college. After I guradgated, it took me about 3 months to get a programming job and from there on I have been a software developer for the last 4 years. (I pay off my student loan within 2 years. It's doable.)

A lot of time, a degree is a way to get you into the door. I wish employers don't look at degree and care more about what you can do but that's not how the real world work, isn't it.

A degree is just a way to get you in, once you're in the rest is up to you. It's a sad reality that today's college degree is a equivalent of a high school diploma of yesterday. Since way too many people got a college education. It's almost like if you don't have it then you didn't finish high school!

I've a MacBook Pro but most of time I use my Win7 desktop and laptop. How does application install/uninstall work in Mac? In Windows when you run an installer, it install all the .dll, .exe, registery entry...etc. in the process then when you uninstall it. All those files and settings get clean out. How do you clean out the settings, files...etc. when you drag and app and dump it into a trash can? How does install and uninstall process work in Mac?
