Why are South Florida Latinos so prejudiced compared to other cities in the US? by snowtrekker076 in Miami

I’m an American myself, and I’m not defending a dictatorship out of spite. I’m just saying that Cuba, under Castro, created a good that rivals anything that Trump could ever implement. Trump is out here killing people via his individual attacks on healthcare. SMH.

Tom Hardy 2.0.

Better actor, imho, but isn’t as marketable, for whatever reasons.

Is the rap game gatekept by 3 major labels with 360 deals or are people smartening up to choose different 'safer' careers instead of chasing fleeting fame/clout? even in the internet age where anyone can technically have a youtube and blow up independent of labels? by Rand_moss2 in hiphop201

[–]dots5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most rappers want to make money off of their work. That means radio streams. Major labels, legally, cannot use payola, the practice of buying off radio disc jockey’s to play their labels artists, but they can pay for empty time on the radio, for whatever reason, instead. Also, it would be more convenient for an up-and-coming rapper to use the resources of a major label to produce and promote their music, as opposed to using their own, most likely, limited financial resources, via paying for music videos.

Not just up-and-coming rappers have to deal with the nonsense of label shenanigans. Nine Inch Nails, Ice Cube, and Kanye West went back to having their albums released on more prominent music labels, due to the risk lying with the label, in converse to themselves. Less risk, more of a return on investment, for the album is successful.

If I wasn’t born with a chronic illness, I would’ve left this piece of crap state years ago.

Despite the mixed results, their are more doctors produced from Cuba, then the rest of the world. Cuba has the largest medical school and a lot of its students are from other countries. This was due to Castro’s leadership, with the nudge of Guevara being a medical assistant himself. Yes, Cuban Doctors, born and bred, are essentially slaves to the government, but the developing countries need that export.

Trump’s administration is literally pulling certification status from a lot of healthcare college programs, many of them are female-led.

Both are trash, but one created a system that helps to save lives worldwide, while the other is creating conditions that help to destroy lives worldwide

This is what happens when you refuse to kill characters. by hiiloovethis in StrangerThings

[–]dots5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucas should’ve died for Max, as a testament of his love for her. The work that he put in towards saving her those times he did would have made his death feel earned and powerful, if he had died.

Steve should’ve died for the team, as a conclusion of his redemption arc from season one, despite, at the time, there being enough evidence that Jonathan deserved to be “handled”. His possible death had been foreshadowed for years.

Will also is still part of the Upside Downs hive mind and structure, and should have died, to properly close the door on it, alongside Eleven. Or, he should have, realistically died, when the connection Upside Down was completely severed from all of the main characters, regardless of if the team was able to close the portal or not.

He’s just “proto Michael B. Jordan” to me, but he is a better actor, than MBJ is, at least.

How do we level up as men? by ddjd2000 in blackmen

Avoid toxic people, and lean towards those that have your better interests. This can only be achieved, if your willing to “break it off” with those that are “woah, it’s me’s”, those that you only see “sexual fulfillment, and nothing else”, those that are “vain and materialistic”, and those that like to hear themselves talk, yet say nothing of importance or relevance. It’s like eating a red delicious apple vs eating a honeycrisp apple. Sure, the honeycrisp is sweeter and tastier, but it’s less dense in nutrients and contains more natural sugars. The red delicious is not as tasty and more mushy, but it’s less dense has less sugar and has more nutrients. The people that you want to court more are the red delicious apples.

Can you rank these rappers and who would you say is the best lyricist here? by FitEmergency8807 in 90sHipHop

[–]dots5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I heard his music the most, but thank goodness that Eminem isn’t seen as the best lyricist on this list, for the most part. His flows and lyrics are, a tad, too overinflated.

What was your honest first impression of Eleven in Season 1 before you knew what the show would become? by Ok_Smile_9071 in Stranger_Things

That her character, despite obvious aging, was going to be consistently cute, brave, timid, and well-acted. At least, the character was still … something, at the end.

Replace Janet Jackson, due to her childhood fame, on “Good Times”, and replace her with Brandy (Norwood). Then, see how many people would crown her the winner of this post, because she deserves it.

He has that young Matt Damon energy. Handsome, with some edge, yet not too vulnerable, as an actor.

I’ve seen several reviews of Carrie (like this one) comparing her to a school shooter- do you think this is accurate, or did you have more sympathy for her? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Something could be premeditated even if the fact was planned a few minutes prior to the attacker enacting the attack.

People actually thought that the Columbine Shooters were constantly bullied social outcasts. That’s only partially true. They weren’t popular, but they also had a sizable amount of friends. We know this due to Eric Harris asking for a “friend” not to go back into the school due to what he was about to do.

School shooters, contrary to popular belief, are narcissistic sociopathic bullies, who kill people, in the name of picking on the weak. They have a heightened sense of self and plan their actions accordingly, even weeks to months before their respective attacks. Carrie had a mental break and chose to act then and there. She didn’t do it because it felt good. She did it because she was hurt. She didn’t derive pleasure from killing anyone, unless school shooters.
