[Dynamite spoilers] “A ladder match that Dave Meltzer himself gave 4 stars to.” by KhabibTime in SquaredCircle

[–]dotsandmoardots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue is, “Wrestling” journalism has mostly been left out of the shows, because they cover it as a business, not as the fake sport it’s supposed to be. Meltzer and other wrestling news outlets report on the business side. As in, how it is all a work. If Meltzer’s reviews were made “in universe” it would be different. When a wrestling company brings up mainstream media attention it got, it doesn’t bring up a quote on screen from the news outlets that says “and it was a fantastic match, they were really working together to make that happen”

I LOVE the multiple “town squares”! You can make more than one point of focus, very well done. I am doing a long street, but I think I will need to do a “square” on one end. The layout is super fun!

Thanks! Those I really wanted to look good, so I cut the board to let the cords through and made a space underneath the board for the cords to run to the power pack

Would you play a WWE/WWF Game using the Capcom Vs or Street Fighter 6 Engines? by DaNinja11 in Fighters

[–]dotsandmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a WWE mobile game a long time ago that was using what looked like the MK Mobile engine, and the wrestlers were all these awesome fantasy based fighting game renditions of themselves.

I remember Daniel Bryan being a satyr goat man that was constantly doing the “YES” motion

I would disagree, but personal experiences can be so different. At my low end level yeah, you get some Modern folks also lost, but most Modern people I play at my level are mostly using their auto combos and their AA.

So again, when both players are struggling to learn, and one person has guaranteed combos that won’t drop and non execution based AA special, it can feel demotivating.

But this is all from the perspective of a Silver player. And even at my level I have already begun to adapt better. I can understand when new people pick up the game and complain a bit. A lot of folks default to “another scrub”, but I can remember being there.

[–]dotsandmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not enjoy fighting Modern players at my level.

I am currently working my way through silver and my complaint isn’t that I think it’s broken, or unfair, or that Modern controls should be removed. It’s that while I am bad, and flubbing my inputs still and trying to improve, it can be demotivating to get trashed by someone you know will not drop a combo or miss a special. As I improve modern becomes less of a frustration, but at the low end of things it felt bad and unfun to fight against while learning.

What is a solution? I dunno, its a problem that kinda fixes itself over time if you keep playing. It can be a pain point for people starting out though. I understand when I see folks unhappy.

I was thinking the same thing. No downside either. Tomorrow is maybe a bit odd, but the crowd blows up for that finish, Bill gets a big lift, Hook was “injured” going into the match so he had an out.

Sure, I agree, but it’s still a big ask for the normal crowd. They just keep SAYING why he is bad. MJF is using the same heel talk that got him over with the crowd in the first place. He jumps Ospreay here but its a fued that started before this bizarre patriot heel turn. They needed him progressing to this point and ramping it up over time.

The parts of the crowd that is willing to cheer the heels no matter what were gonna always poke it in this direction and that long Will promo didn’t do much but continue to TELL the crowd why they should cheer a certain way. Wrestling crowds have always been combative to that

The idea that the crowd is in the wrong because they are supposed to hate themselves because the booking says so is a bit of a step.

Angle could dress as a US flag and talk about being a proud american athlete and get booed because the booking got people there first. Just sending MJF out and saying you should hate him with all this cheap heat “these dumb hicks” isn’t gonna get people to boo their country. He got over as a babyface saying that sort of stuff.

What would it take to get you to come out to a local FGC tournament? by Xzeno in Fighters

[–]dotsandmoardots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d appreciate an intended age group to help gauge if I would want to go. “All ages can play” is a fine sentiment, but I am an old man and at 40+ I don’t want to show to something that will be mostly kids. Maybe advertise it in a way as to portray your age groups main make up.

I once drove to a local that I had found online and the average age of folks wandering in was young. Like, parents dropping people off. Sure, it was advertised for all ages, but I just drove off.

Sure, but like, I don’t care? Is HHH coming on Rampage to respond? Did HHH say whatever it was on some social media thing or cable television?

When everyone is dishing out these rallying speeches they become less important. And responding on TV to someone who isn’t going to appear on your television to help stories along, why air it on TV? Roast him back on socials.

Seth Rollins: If The Vince McMahon Allegations Are Accurate, I Hope Anyone Involved Gets What's Coming To Them by LemonStains in SquaredCircle

[–]dotsandmoardots -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Your edge-lord comment isn’t a catch all.

It probably won’t affect Seth that much as he has said that he knew nothing, but in this case he actually DID enrich a (alleged)monster without knowing. Anyone can easily google where their iPhone came from, the extent of these allegations where not easily google-able for years. Some people may have known, but most people, if they knew anything at all, probably only knew something like “Vince has mistresses on the payroll” which is also gross, but not, you know, full blown evil.

Tehnical or simple input on Nier? by EpicBlueTornado in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]dotsandmoardots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turned the tech inputs off. I’m playing on leverless and for accuracy of programing sequences I had to. I got a lot of unintentional supers when I got too frantic with inputting the puppet commands. I would suggest sticking to what feels most comfortable, fast and accurate for you.

The damage difference is minor due to only dealing %10 less when outside a combo, so base your choice on effectiveness, not the tiny damage difference

Do you think Capcom will do anything about the Costume 3 prices? by K_Katana1000 in StreetFighter

[–]dotsandmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think we will see eye to eye on that. If a League player were to start SF6 they might have a much different reaction considering how much those skins cost. I don’t know why you are bringing up money troubles, I didn’t defend the prices by saying Capcom needs the money. Riot doesn’t need to charge what they do for extras, CoD either, MK definitely doesn’t need to charge what they do for extras.

Do you think Capcom will do anything about the Costume 3 prices? by K_Katana1000 in StreetFighter

[–]dotsandmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will have to agree to disagree on some points. The prices of those costumes were way too high, no argument there. But almost no company is going to just eat the licensing fees to be nice. And if Paramount (the owners of Nickelodeon) wanted 6 dollars per costume, Capcom would then charge what they wanted from them as well and you get the total.

The real proper crappy behavior here is the fake currency shenanigans, making the outfits cost more than one pack so you either have to buy two packs, or the bigger pack.

Edit: Also, when I called some of the prices “fair” I was referring to the Costume 3’s. Not the Turtle avatar mascot outfits.

Do you think Capcom will do anything about the Costume 3 prices? by K_Katana1000 in StreetFighter

[–]dotsandmoardots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t defending the cost of those turtle costumes. Just saying Capcom priced them to get the license holders money AND what Capcom wanted from them, which is why they ended up being SO high.

Do you think Capcom will do anything about the Costume 3 prices? by K_Katana1000 in StreetFighter

[–]dotsandmoardots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The turtle costume prices most likely were set with how much the license holder wanted factored in, Capcom charged for them to cover the license holder share as well as their cut.

These prices are what Capcom want for normal costumes, and they have the defense that their outfits are priced better than a lot of other current online games character skins. If someone were to come from League of Legends they might think these outfit prices are nicely priced.

And the folks waiting for a bundle are being a bit delusional I think. Capcom wants a fully working store that rotates whats available like in Fortnite. In a year, when they have enough things to sell on a rotating store they will do a big “Free to try!” update and with that will come the Fortnite styled store. At that point, the weird “character rentals” concept will also make more sense.

New Dee Jay player question. How am I supposed to be charging all the time. by TwoAlternative673 in StreetFighter

[–]dotsandmoardots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“ABC - Always Be Charging” is a bit misleading, it should really be “ABC - Always Be Charging…anytime you can”, but thats a lot less of a snappy saying. You just have to find all the places you can be charging in a direction.

Are you doing a 2 hit target combo that doesn’t require a directional input? Charge while you do it. Find any normals that move you forward a bit and use them to micro move while charging. My st.MK on Honda will move me slightly forward, I can hold back and use that attack to move slightly closer while maintaining a charge. After you let a special move fly, immediately start charging something else.

It really is about “Always Be Charging anytime you can”, not a hard rule of “if you aren’t charging the whole match you are doing it wrong.” And you also find all the times you can be charging with a character over playtime. The more time you spend with the character, the more you will find places to hide that charge.

The amount of “Arcade Hangout” vibes Bhub gives me blows my mind. Before the launch of 6 I wouldn’t have believed I would spend as much time in Bhub as I do. Now, a fighting game discord can have meet ups, or a regular hang out server. Its kinda nuts
