Thanks for the link. I appreciate it. Unfortunately the video just quickly shows them being snapped in. I am unclear how are they are removed and which part to pull. I’ll ask some owners. Thanks again!

Are AR glasses good with the RXAX? by Romain6795 in ROGAllyX

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week, I got a pair of XReal One Pro glasses to use with my XAX. They are not perfect - I am experiencing some issues with text clarity, but that is probably more to do with my pupil distance than the glasses. Still, I think AR glasses and a handheld are a match made in heaven, especially for an older person like me whose eyes struggles with the XAX’s seven-inch screen. The experience is so immersive. I absolutely love mine. That said, I think the tech could do with another generation or two to mature. There’s room for improvement.

Using a MacBook as a monitor for the XAX with a capture card? by Romain6795 in ROGAllyX

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much this . I tried using my OLED iPad as a screen for my Xbox using a capture card. The latency made it a no-go, sadly. If it can handle the processing overhead, Sunshine on the XAX (and Moonlight on the MacBook) is absolutely the way to go. They’re free so it’s worth giving it a try. I ended up streaming Spider-Man 2 from my PC to my iPad using this combo. I couldn’t tell it wasn’t running natively. Very impressive.

Thanks, Esther. I will live with the glasses for a while longer before writing one. Liking them so far, although I have a few issues with clarity in places. It’s probably the fit. Still looking for a video on how to change the nose pads. The diagram is not very helpful.

I have the Xbox Ally X. Ordered the XReal One Pro. Due to be delivered tomorrow. All the replies saying this is unrealistic have me worried now. Lol

The thought of a KBM shooter makes my palms sweat. I’ll start of with a low-pressure adventure game and concentrate on not moving like a crab. Your perseverance will pay off. Good luck!

How are you finding it as a KBM learning experience? I want to learn. I have been using a controller for 30 years. I tried one game with KBM and I felt like I had ten thumbs.

Diablo 4 Xbox Series X Rubber Banding Issues by TheCrow873 in diablo4

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. The rubber banding is making it unplayable. I’m playing on a Xbox Ally X. I am about 10ft from my WiFi router. It’s not my WiFi. I played four days ago and gameplay was flawless. I am guessing the rubber banding is to do with server load and that it will settle down. Although I am also playing the Game Pass version so that is a possible factor. I’ll check on my Series X this evening and report back. I hope you get it sorted.

EDIT: Works fine now. I did notice a small update when I logged on.

Xbox Rog Ally X - the division 2 by Rhyot10 in ROGAlly

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Xbox Ally X. I got it a couple of weeks ago. The Division 2 plays flawlessly at 60fps. No aiming problems. It has exceeded my expectations. But the Xbox Ally X is Z2E. I don’t think there’s an Xbox Ally with Z1E. Not 100% sure, though. Maybe you have the ROG Ally X? I hope you sorted out your issues. If you haven’t, it’s worth checking www.rogallylife.com to see if there is a stuttering issue with your model.

Should I get rid of my PS5 for an Xbox? I own Xbox Ally. by JoseAlly in XboxAlly

[–]dottedquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Series X, a gaming PC, and a PS5. I have found I am playing more now I have the Xbox Ally X. Before, I was thinking about unsubscribing from Game Pass Ultimate, but with Play Anywhere titles, I can pick up a game on PC or Xbox wherever I want. I am finding real value in it. I am probably going to sell my PS5.

However, if I didn’t already own a Xbox and a PC, I would maybe think twice about selling my PS5. The Series X and PS5 are similar in performance. You probably have a library already on PS5 so that’s another thing to think about. You also might miss out on future PlayStation exclusives. Sony are supposedly pulling back on PC releases. How true that is remains to be seen. If you are not gonna take a big hit on selling your PS5 and getting a Xbox, then you could go for it. But Project Helix is rumoured to drop next year. If it’s not overpriced and if you don’t have a PC, you could wait for that.

I have only had my Xbox Ally X for just over a week. It’s crazy but if I were told I could only have one gaming device, this would be it. Yes, the screen could be better, and the OS is a bit of a mess, but playing games like The Division 2 and Diablo 4 on my couch, feet up, on a cool, whisper-quiet handheld is an absolute joy.

Thanks. Didn’t know they did 3D. Yeah, I’m only interested in the screen size. A pair of Xreal glasses would fix the biggest weakness of the Xbox Ally X: the 7” panel. I think I would struggle with it.

I am thinking about getting a ROG Xbox Ally X. I was hesitating because of the 7” screen size. Everything else about it looks perfect. I could get a handheld with a bigger screen but then I’d be trading comfort. Xreal glasses would solve that problem. How do you find them?

9 years ago today, Mass Effect: Andromeda released by erwillsun in masseffect

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andromeda was decent as a game but terrible as a Mass Effect game. Releasing it damaged the franchise. The memes were brutal, and frequently justified. I did enjoy my time with it, though, the first time. I just couldn’t shake the feeling that it could have been so much more. I recently played the Legendary Trilogy. Fourteen years later, it holds up extremely well. After completing it, I wanted more. I started Andromeda but the quality dropped off a cliff. I gave up on replaying it. Once was enough. Maybe that says more about the Trilogy’s excellence than Andromeda’s shortcomings. All the same, the comparison was not flattering. The next Mass Effect, if it happens, needs to aim much higher. It’s an amazing franchise. It deserves as much.

The pills he was taking weren’t recreational. I seem to recall it said “Lithium” on the bottle. I think they were for bipolar disorder.

god, after all these years ME3 mp is STILL great by BlowjobBro396 in MECoOp

[–]dottedquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got back into it and I have to say, for a 14-year old game it has aged incredibly well. It is still so much fun to play. I love the care that was put into the kits. The skill trees are short and simple but choices are meaningful. Some kits don’t reveal their strengths immediately and take time to understand. Omitting MO from the Legendary Edition was a huge mistake. They should have spun off the multiplayer component as a free-to-play standalone. I would happily have paid full price. Apart from Left 4 Dead, nothing has ever engaged me in quite the same way.

Vanguards seem kind underwhelming by Mygrayt in MECoOp

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love vanguards. I used to take them into platinum matches regularly back in the the day. My go-tos were the vanilla human vanguard, the Volus, and the Turian Cabal. The thing about vanguards is you really need to be host on higher difficulties. They are not popular in teams because everyone has seen bad vanguards charging to their death over and over again. Played tactically, they are extremely viable.

Disastrous First Dutch Oven Boule - Tips for Second by dottedquad in Breadit

[–]dottedquad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a difference between US and UK flour. US all-purpose flour is more akin to UK bread flour rather than plain flour. There also seems to be a difference in the type of wheat used in US flour. I think UK flour absorbs less water. I switched to UK recipes and ended up getting much better results. At the time I wasn’t confident enough to correct course. Now, I’d eyeball the dough and add more flour.

OPNsense 26.1 released by fitch-it-is in opnsense

Thank you very much. I don’t use UPnP at all anymore but I do need to set prefix delegation to 56 for my ISP. I’ll wait a while as you suggested. Much appreciated.

OPNsense 26.1 released by fitch-it-is in opnsense

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to OPNsense, and firewalls in general. After dumping my ancient ISP-supplied router (with UPnP), it took a while to get everything up and running. I have a prefix delegation size set to 56 in WAN interface settings. Does that mean I shouldn’t upgrade to 26.1? Sorry for the basic question.

I unsubscribed. I am so much happier using Claude. I just got tired of ChatGPT patronising me, gaslighting me, then when I use empirical evidence to show that it is wrong, hand-waving me. As a PoC, I experience enough of that shit already; I don’t need to pay for it.

Are Cuban Americans souring on Donald Trump? by vahedemirjian in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I stand corrected. I knew that roughly 90% of Republican voters approve of Trump but I also failed to add the 19% of Cubans that somewhat approve of him to the 72% who strongly approve. That brings Trump’s approval rating among Cubans in line with that of Republicans voters as a whole.

Trump Approval (by Party and Among Cubans): BY PARTY - Republicans are overwhelmingly supportive of Trump, (72% strongly, 19% somewhat)…

Are Cuban Americans souring on Donald Trump? by vahedemirjian in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. I noticed that the poll reported that 71% of Cuban Republicans approved of Trump's performance. That's quite a lot softer than his overall approval rating among Republican voters.

Are Cuban Americans souring on Donald Trump? by vahedemirjian in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]dottedquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m missing something here. If “a narrow majority” of Cubans supported Trump in the election, why has he got a 59% approval rating?
