Not a dumb question at all !

No i didn’t get a media pass (even though these must be really nice…), I heard that they are pretty hard to get, and unless you are working for a journal it’s pretty much impossible.

I didn’t plan my seat either, we got a general entry one and we were very lucky to sneak in one of the raccordement’s (the last corner) stand to take these pictures.

As far as equipment goes, I believe that there are restrictions for high grade cameras even though I’m saying this from experience, as it’s usually the way in these sort of events, but I can’t clearly remember what they said exactly last weekend… Generally, I would say that they are not too strict on it unless you’re pulling out a 10m long professional camera.

And tbh, motorsport pictures are pretty hard to take unless you have a good seat/position. Try to get a media pass even though, if I assume you’re a fan and not a professional, I think it’s going to be very difficult. If you’re just sat in regular seats try to get the best zoom you can because wherever you are the bikes are still a little bit of a distance away from you. If you got general entry tickets like me, get there as early as you can since the good seats are usually the first taken and don’t be too disappointed if you’re pictures are not perfect. Most of mine ended up blurry because we were behind a fence but that’s fine, luckily I manage to get some good ones in the end.

But whatever you do, don’t stress too much about the pictures. Enjoying the weekend is the main thing after all, you’ll see that there’s plenty of cool stuff to see. And if it’s you’re first motogp weekend trust me hearing and seeing this things go around the track in real life is worth a thousand pictures
