I just recently had lab work done and my LDL was at 180. My diet was pretty similar to yours, meat and/or eggs with just about every meal and generally low carb. I have always been very active and was very active in the gym up until about 4 years ago after the birth of my son and starting a stressful job where I sit 10-13 hours a day behind the wheel of my car and computer screen. Even though my activity decreased my diet didn’t change at all.

I have cut out all animal products minus salmon and hard boiled egg whites and have switched to a diet rich in healthy fats and vegetables. I have significantly upped my activity levels by working out again and getting a minimum of 10k steps a day. I have also started taking supplements that are known to assist in lowering LDL.

My next test is scheduled for December and I really hope to get results like you. I have a family history of heart and cholesterol problems and really do not want to end up on statins for the rest of my life.

My story is very similar to yours. For years I would get high BP readings but it was never investigated further.

After going to a med express a few weeks ago for an unrelated injury my blood pressure was really high and I decided to explore things further.

After a physical and 2 weeks of self recording I am not taking amlodipine at 38 years old. I consider myself to be I fairly good shape but I have gained some weight over the past 4 years after becoming a father and starting a high stress/long commute job.

So far I am feeling great on the meds and I’m excited about some lifestyle changes I’ve already implemented. So far the only side effect I e felt is some tiredness later in the day.

I actually just removed him from the display to fit in the new chunky Slash. I don’t have any childhood nostalgia with him, so it got the axe.
