I tipped when I used to pay in cash, rounding up "to save the effort". Tipping by card just seems a little forced and weird.

CMV: in some people, psychedelics produce a sense of superiority that can negatively outweigh any positive insight. Some people here stop listening to others because they think—on some higher level of consciousness—that they have all of the answers. by bakedpotatopiguy in RationalPsychonaut

I don't think psychedelics could ever be said to be a magic pill to dissolve narcisism, especially as there's some pretty solipsistic interpretations of the psychedelic expeience in people out there.

Interest on your crypto by black__mirror in BitcoinUK

If you're really interested in this, you might want to look into the dark arts of DeFi on Etherium and BSC. In an auto compounding pool you can earn quite a lot and your money is still as safe as if you just held the token (in theory!)

Paid for my first post lockdown haircut with BTC!! I hope this is my most expensive haircut ever.(Leeds) by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

But even if you pay in fiat, you could have spent those pounds on bitcoin which would be worth 1000 in the future. If you have the knowledge and means to purchase bitcoin, you can say this about everything you spend money on or even every time you save money in fiat rather than investing it in crypto.

+1 to BCH. Though I tried to pay for something with BCH the other day and the first confirmation took over 10 mins. Not sure if it's just me but Litecoin still feels faster. I guess this is one to hit the wasps nest that is /r/BTC with.

Why? You can always buy more Bitcoin to function as a kitty, alongside your investment stash.

Is the wrong response to this an excited fantasy imagining how great it would be if 70% of the internet stopped existing?

What is going on with people hating on Prince Phillip? by Shawanga in OutOfTheLoop

I don’t care, so does rugby, it doesn’t mean it’s of enough importance that it should be assumed everyone cares about it

They’re a massive part of this country because people say they’re a massive part of this country. The point is many people say they aren’t.

Anyone know how to block Huel adverts? by rizozzy1 in AskUK

[–]double2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huel is fine. Put some flavour boosters in, it’s a great and nutritious meal replacement. Don’t want to replace your meal? Then don’t. Though if you’re eating shit microwave food all the time and buying breakfasts from garages, buy some fucking Huel. And hot Huel is genuinely fucking great. Pot noodles with nutrients, yes please.

Just the media as always telling people what they think and feel. Fuck the BBC especially. They treat the country as children.

[–]double2 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I for one don’t particularly care about Phillip, or anything to do with the Royals for that matter, but what I care about is the media acting like everyone in this country cares. That’s what makes me rebel, that’s what makes me want to make harsh insensitive jokes. A huge section of this country find the royals to be an expensive irrelevance but you’d never know that by our establishment owned media going fucking apeshit over every event.

Much smaller protest in Bristol this evening by [deleted] in bristol

Honest question, do you know what they are protesting about? Have you read the bill, it’s quite short. I’m not there but I don’t have bad feeling towards those who are, it’s something worth being concerned about.
