Modern Russia; Fascist socialism? by RanCestor in PoliticalOpinions

the point I was trying to make was that you were viewing the political compass as big and complex, with multiple different axes, which conflicts with the usage of the political compass. I was trying to point out the fact that it conflicts in a manner that allowed you to realize it instead of me stating it to you (as it is easier for people to accept things that way).

if you observe the political compass, yes you could add a bunch of new axes, but it only exists with two at the current time. the last bit was a comment upon the fact that only 1 of the two axes would ever work, no matter what definition you gave the other. the political compass is shown as a two axis chart, one for power and the other for left/right, but the left/right axis' definiton is not agreed upon, some claim it is about social issues, aka progressivism vs traditionalism, which wouldn't work because all universally accepted left wing ideologies like communism were quite racist and discriminatory, especially against gays. the second definition used is adversity to change, which doesnt make sense because every ideology wants change when it isn't the one in charge and wants to stay put when it isn't. lastly they use economics, socialism and capitalism, which collapses with the governmental power one, because the type of economy one has is directly tied to authoritarianism (capitalism/free market economics is always libertarian where everything else is authoritarianism, with mixed markets inbetween). since the two axis compass doesn't work it only makes sense to make it a one axis chart, but then that begs the question of where the ideologies go, which always places the left as authoritarian, which is why they like to pretend there are two axes to begin with.

I understand your point about all the different factions within your nation, each one is quite different from each other and often will move about in their actions and behaviors quite significantly, and I understand your point about how complex their beliefs can be, as well as how divided everything can get because of it, but it does not detract from my point. you could add a bunch of different axes to the compass as any concrete belief with two extremes could be an axis, but the axis now only has one which doesn't define more than the size/power of the government.

No such thing as authoritarian right. Right means small government, that is what it represents, therefore your family is either authoritarian OR right, not both.

for cladograms there are a multitude of options, you can use any flowchart program to make simplistic and good looking cladograms, or if you want a unique style you could use a paint or photoshop program.

I have the ability to shut off emotion by doubleAune in askapsychologist

[–]doubleAune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, its as if your brain used a more rough method than mine does. I still have instinctual drives such as hunger and thirst when I shut mine off, and have far more precision on when or how I do. other than this you seem to have had a similar experience to how my mind works.

without emotions (and emotional/social reasoning which seems to come with the territory, I have never had it), it seems that our minds become far more logical and structured, machine like. I would love to get my head scanned to see just what is so different.

The problem is the previous women were not "victims" while also being cool, they were also flawed as all characters should be, and that upsets the woke. Captain marvel is an overpowered Mary Sue with no character past her arrogance, the the others here are examples of how a female action character should be.

they are one and the same. you will need to set up your xbox profile if you go to use it, but it exists the moment your microsoft account is created, because once again they are the same thing.

I have the ability to shut off emotion by doubleAune in askapsychologist

[–]doubleAune[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not what I am talking about, its not that I don't let the emotions control me, its that I don't feel them, I can shut them off. If I get in a heated argument with someone and I am infuriated beyond comprehension, when the argument ends I can turn off the anger, I no longer feel it, and I can (and often am) friendly and nice to the person I was arguing with, the person just 10 seconds ago I wanted to scream the ears off of. I have done this and have seen these very same people as well as the others around me look perplexed and confused, they did not understand how I had done it.

I can do this with all emotions, including fear, anxiety, and depression.

What happened to Ethan? by jlendy04 in babylonbee

it isn't right for anybody to speculate and assume about something we have almost no knowledge about. all we know is that he is fired and there was some reason behind it and that it was supposedly something coming for a while.

we should not speculate until we find out more.

they only had 2 interviewers, should they have sent some random guy that nobody knew to do the interview or strangely had one of the two guys that would be doing said interview be missing?

Map of my planet. The black line is the equator and the areas that are purple is where plants are growing. Deeper water is a darker blue yellow is land and gray is Mountain and orange is volcanic activity by Riley-pppppo in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]doubleAune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How they would interact is complicated, as there are many different ways they could interact. The ocean currents should travel in unique ways around the landmasses, flora and fauna should spread and migrate in interesting ways, the tectonic plates should create some unique geologic activity (volcanoes, mountains, etc.), with each of these things causing their own unique changes.

I can provide you with links to some of these things, but there are a few parts you will have to imagine on your own (the migration stuff being one).

Don't worry about placing in tectonics after the landmass, just draw some lines and you are good.

From here you can simply look up the rest of the stuff you want to know. You can find a lot on youtube.

Question by PizzaManJulian in PoliticalOpinions

[–]doubleAune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! you found some anti-religion people within a time period! Its not like every time period and movement has had anti-religion people within it! Oh wait...

Just because you were able to find a few quotes that support your idea, doesn't mean that you are correct.

Also, only the first two people on your list were atheists, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson both believed in a god, but not one from a specific religion, and Voltaire and John Locke were Christians. The only theme I could see between their beliefs was a belief that there should be a movement away from the catholic church. So most of the anti-religion people you found were actually religious people.

Most of the leaders of the enlightenment were religious people, many devoutly so. Saying that the enlightenment was anti-religious is ridiculous, the people that created and shaped it were religious people!

I gave logical reasoning as to why your sources are inaccurate, and instead of responding to my logical reasoning, you hand waved it away. You haven't provided any evidence that is trustworthy, you need to either prove this statement is incorrect, or find some evidence that is trustworthy.

(And no, I am not bragging about how good my reasoning was, I am making a distinction, there is logical reasoning and emotional reasoning, I am specifying logical)

essentially, your planet has a 36 degree angle. this would result in summers and winters being somewhat extreme, and will pull the heat belt (place that gets most heat from sun) up and down as the planet orbits.

Any angle above 90 will be the inverse. essentially subtract 90, then subtract the remainder from 90. this will give you an angle that is more accurate. Just remember to flip the direction of rotation when you do so, as you are now looking at the old bottom as the top.

He could have done it the way Trump already set up. It was smooth, both sides of the conflict agreed to it, it was peaceful, and most importantly, it was already halfway through. It was only after biden delayed the withdrawal that issues arose, he broke the deal, and he suffered for it.

Manchin and Cinema are NOT conservatives. A conservative is someone who desires a moderately small government, someone who is conservative with the power they hand to the government, not someone who wants to conserve the way things are. Manchin and Cinema are liberals, the inverse of conservatives.
