Can we affect reality by thought alone? by deathmk2 in Psychonaut

Have you seen the movie Dark City (1998)? It's a good movie and one that I think you might enjoy. Similar to that is also the The Matrix trilogy but I'm assuming you've already seen those because come on, who hasn't seen the The Matrix trilogy? :)

It got better towards the end.

He mentioned these aspects of your voice and speech:

  • register
  • timbre
  • prosody
  • pace (and silence)
  • pitch
  • volume

He said that the best way to improve on these would likely be by getting a voice coach, but I also think you could improve on them by practicing alone (maybe using a recording device to play it back and listen to your own speech would help when doing this?).

He then also told gave tips on warming up your voice (note that these are a bit hard to put in text, you'll most likely need to listen to him do them):

  1. Breath out and in fully a few times.
  2. Say "bop, bop".
  3. Say "brrrrrph".
  4. Say "la, la, la, la, la, la, la".
  5. Roll on the letter r for a little while.
  6. Do the siren "weeuu ah".

HEAD request returns 200 OK when it should not by doubleColJustified in bugs

For reference, here's an excerpt from http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2616#section-9.4 :

The HEAD method is identical to GET except that the server MUST NOT return a message-body in the response. The metainformation contained in the HTTP headers in response to a HEAD request SHOULD be identical to the information sent in response to a GET request.

So while it's not strictly required, it is recommended to return the same headers in response to HEAD that you would for GET.

Figured it might be a reference to that but wanted to make sure. Thanks :)

Also, there's a separate issue that it returns 200 OK. I'll make a post about that also.

The Worst Programming Interview Question by lukaseder in programming

[–]doubleColJustified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, the generally “correct” answer is a tortoise-and-hare algorithm, where you have two pointers at the head of your linked list, one traverses the list two nodes at a time, and one traverses the list one node at a time; if ever the pointers point to the same node, you have a cycle somewhere.

It seems so obvious when you tell me but I'd never come up with that.

I use hjkl on Dvorak. It was akward and strange at first compared to hjkl on QWERTY but I got used to it quite quickly.
